More Overspending Uncovered

Thanks to the efforts of a Greeley Report reader, more wasteful spending within District 6 continues to be uncovered.  This was passed on to District 6 school board member-elect Brett Reese. Greeley Report has agreed to publish this information on their behalf.  Here are the facts.

• School District 6 has not purchased one $2,000 desk.  They have purchased several in recent years.
  
• The main floor desk in the administration building cost $20,000 (with four zeros)!
  
• The receptionist desk in Human Resources cost $8,000.

Why didn't the Lib Trib's investigative reporters cover this?  Why are we being told that they cannot buy textbooks, and yet they have money for extravagant purchases like these?  These are the issues that deserve to see the light of day.  Be sure to call District 6 or the local school board and demand a thorough audit that will be published.

Write Those Checks Now

Attention all supporters of 3A.  The Lib Trib is still whining about your loss.  Your leaders are shocked and saddened. But there is something you can do!  YOU can make a difference.  You can demonstrate your heart.  Instead of pulling money out of your neighbors wallets, you can voluntarily send in your portion.  Simply figure out how much you would have paid under 3A, sit down, and write the check to District 6 schools.  I know they would appreciate it.

If you don't write a check, we understand.  You really didn't want to write a check either...unless you forced us to do it, too.  But we said no.  You still think District 6 needs more money.  The jury is still out on that issue.  Why don't you join the majority vote now, and push for more transparency, integrity and change in the district.  The majority has spoken.  Will you (and your hired shills at the Lib Trib) join the ranks of the majority, or will you simply continue to whine?

If This Is Peace....

We are told that Islam is the religion of peace.  However, the news tells a different story.

• November, 2009 - A Muslim soldier leaps onto a table and kills 12 fellow soldiers, wounding 30 others.
  
• October, 2009 - A Muslim imam is killed in Detroit, in a shootout with the FBI.
• June, 2009 - An Army recruiter is killed in Little Rock, Arkansas by a Muslim.
  
• Fall, 2004 - A group known as the Virginia Jihad Network is broken up while planning a huge assault against Americans.
  
• October, 2009 - Suspect Zazi, his father, and a New York cleric are taken into custody and charged with planning acts of terror against America.
• November, 2009 - A woman is murdered in Ft. Morgan, Colorado and an African Muslim living in Greeley is arrested and charged with the crime.
  
• February, 2007 - Sulejman Talovic opens fire in a Salt Lake City, Utah mall.  He even kills people execution style.  He is a devout Muslim.
  
• July, 2006 - One Jew is killed and 5 others wounded inside a Seattle Jewish Center.  A Muslim forced his way inside by holding a gun to the head of a Jewish teenager.
• November, 2008 - Twenty Muslim men go outside of North Phoenix, Arizona.  They spend their time there shooting targets and practicing.  Two are sons of a noted Imam in the city.
  
• 2002 - The beltway sniper is arrested in the Washington, D.C. area.  He is a Muslim.

Muslims are involved in every major conflict around the world.  Africa, Indonesia, the Middle East, Eastern and Western Europe.  There is one common thread; the theme of Islam.  Tell them to pack their bags and get out.  It's time we start speaking up before there is a Ft. Hood-style situation right here.

It Isn't Over

During the course of the next 10 days a group of ballots are still in play due to issues with their signatures.  These may be corrected by the sender in a mail-in election during a brief window of time.  It may force a recount in the Greeley Mayor's race.  It also proves that just one vote matters greatly in every election.  The mayoral race is not over.

Another issue that is still breathing is the foolish notion that District 6 must have more funding in order to be a great school district.  The Lib Trib editorialized on this yesterday.  Apparently the Lib Trib does not realize that soon every other school district in Colorado will be forced to somehow cut back in their spending; and Weld County has embraced that difficult fact early-on.

The Lib Trib also encouraged 3A supporters to keep up their work.  Greeley Report agrees with this.  To all of you who support the tax increase 3A would bring, let me say this.  You can voluntarily give the amount to District 6 that your taxes would have risen.  It's easy.  Sit down, write the check, pay the district.  But I'm not going to do it.  I voted no, and no means no.  Your attempt to get money from my wallet failed, but you are still free to do as you choose.

I think Reese, Kershaw and the others need to call Lang on the carpet for buying $2,000 desks, $60,000 lifts, a tow truck, and computers they implied they didn't have.  District 6 said they did not have $300,000 for textbooks.  But when it came to inflating a few salaries in the district, they managed to find...you got it.  $300,000.  Amazing!  Something smells rotten.  Let's get to the bottom of this.

So to all you supporters of 3A, to ahead and write out your checks.  I'm sure the district will be appreciative.  As for those of you who thought this little fight would go away now, stay tuned.  I guarantee they will stonewall effort to open up District 6 books, District 6 committees, and District 6 practices.  And then they will give you sob stories and beg you for more money.  Again.  It's not about the children; we all care about them (no matter what the liars at the Lib Trib imply)  It's about managing government well!  It isn't over.  The fight has only begun.

The Winners And The Losers

Greeley Report closely followed the results of the local and national elections last night.  As the new day dawns, it appears that conservatives are winning at a grassroots level in various places in the nation.  In the Greeley area there were some clear-cut winners and losers.

Losers

Tom Norton - Why is Norton in the losers column when he won the mayoral race?  Simple.  He outspent his opponent 3-1, and garnered the support of Greeley's wealthiest crowd.  He has prior history in public office.  Still, he was only able to eke out a very slim margin of victory (with a number of ballots still in play).  If this RINO doesn't work with the conservatives and cut taxes he will join a list of failed "Toms" in the region very quickly.

Ed Philipsen - Ed did not seize control of his opponent's lies.  He could have demonstrated his ability to lead, and all he did was talk.  The race could have been won by an Ed.  Instead, it's a Tom.

The Greeley Elite - The movers and shakers in Greeley partnered with the money people to dump thousands of dollars into 3A and Norton's mayoral race.  While Norton won, 3A lost.  And their opposition was not funded well at all.  Their ivory towers are shaking.

3A - Burn baby, burn!  The opposition to this measure was outfunded by a 60 to 1 margin (yes, it's true!).  But the ballot measure went down, losing to a 60+ percent no vote!  Lang and her cronies are being told to do a better job or else.  How is that for a job satisfaction rating?

The Lib Trib - They editorialized, they criticized, they endorsed, they advertised, they pushed.  In the end their snide little diatribes didn't work.  They lost on Brett Reese, 3A, and a few other candidate endorsements.  They took the advertising money of the wealthy and showed that their reader base is shrinking.  So is their credibility.  Hear that sucking sound, Lib Trib?  It's readers moving to KFKA, Pirate, and Greeley Report.

Doug Lidiak - Lidiak lost to the name recognition and cronies of Kron and Trimberger.  He also lost to a wave of support for fresh faces and voices in Reese and Kershaw.  Too bad.  Kron or Trimberger should have been bumped instead.

RINO's/DIABLO's - RINO's (Republican in Name Only) and DIABLO's (Democrat in all but Label Only) have received a wake-up call.  They cannot govern in any way without conservatives.  You sent that message to them in screaming fashion.  Can they hear you now?  Probably not.  They are usually mild-speaking idiots.

Winners

Brett Reese - Brett Reese worked his butt off, and ran an excellent, low-budget race for school board.  He won.  Not only did he win, he was within 2.5 percentage points of surpassing the top candidate in a field of five!  Don't expect Reese to provide quotes to the misquoting and liberal newspaper.  Pirate radio will win as well as Greeley Report, because you can expect Reese to speak with them.  They will publish his information in an unedited fashion.  Pirate is already the most listened-to station in Greeley.  It's star is rising, as is Reeses.

The 9.12 Group - This little group was mocked and criticized by the Lib Trib.  They had almost no funding, and were truly a grassroots movement.  However, by focusing on positions with issues and candidates, and by getting involved, they made a huge difference in this race.  Their "No on 3A" piece nearly changed the mayor's race, and played a huge role in 3A.  They have a place at the table if they don't grow warm, fuzzy, and stupid.

Amy Oliver/School Bullies - Do not mess with Amy!  She was bold, articulate, and opposed 3A.  She and Reese (two broadcasters) spoke to the grassroots in a way that connected.  She has a good listening audence in Colorado, and she makes sense.  Oliver's winning ways make her one of the key people to listen to in the region.

District 6 - How can school district 6 win, when 3A lost?  It's simple.  Now District 6 must focus on managing creatively.  They can open up their processes.  If they will listen to the shot across their bow fired last night, they will realize they need to put their books on line.  They need to change the way they do business.  They need to listen to Reese.  If they don't his friends will join him on the board in the next round of elections.  Expensive desks and overpriced lifts are out.  Budgeting and cutting is in.  This will position District 6 ahead of the curve that most of the districts in the state will feel 2 years from now.  The economic crash is still building.

Northern Colorado Conservatives - That roar you heard last night was from the collective screams of conservatives at the ballot box.  Can you hear them now?  They aren't merely angry with pseudo-president Obama.  They are angry with every weak RINO, liberal democrat, and lying newspaper.  They are going to continue to get involved in government.  They are awakening, hopefully long-term, to the fact that if they don't get involved with groups such as 9.12, or even run for office themselves, their liberties will be taken by the liberals who claim to protect them.  Socialism or freedom.  They have heard the cell doors clanging shut, and they are ready to fight their way out.

The Descent Of The USSA

Greeley Report thanks a regular reader for the following article that graphically illustrates our decline into slavery.

"This year I decided to begin carrying my firearm regularly.  Society isn't getting any better, and after a couple of close calls with crime it was the prudent thing to do.  Besides, it was easy.  Right?  After all, the second amendment to the U.S. Constitution says "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

First, I discovered it wasn't as easy as it sounded.  I'm a U.S. citizen with no criminal history, clean as a whistle.  However, my friends began to question my motives as well as the Constitution!  They didn't think this is what the founders intended.  They opined that guns were for hunting, police and the military.  Civilians should leave that stuff to the "professionals."  They didn't like my discussions about how professionals often draw chalk lines around civilians, and they really became inflamed when I pointed out the original intent of the second amendment; that being the necessity of citizens to protect themselves from tyranny.  When I mentioned the fact that my right to carry a firearm was not granted by government, but was an unalienable, natural right, their heads about blew off!

I also discovered there is a list of places where my firearm and freedom is disallowed.  Colleges, hospitals, schools, various businesses.  I was a clean-cut citizen.  Safe, law-abiding, allegedly free and responsible.  Law-breakers carry weapons into these places.   Law-abiding citizens cannot.

Then there was the problem with my clothing.  Yes, clothing.  I found out I can carry a firearm in plain sight without a problem.  However, if my sweatshirt covers it, I am a lawbreaker.  Now, I need a government "permit."  And of course the "permit" has regulations, approvals of government, and money.

You see, the government requires you to take a class that is approved by them.  It costs $100 or more.  In the class they teach you that if you ever do have to shoot someone, you may well be presumed guilty unless proven innocent.  Then you must fill out an application for a concealed carry permit.  This costs another $152.  (So far I have spent $252, and I still can't wear my sweatshirt or a jacket over my gun.)  The application packet has all of the gun laws in legalese, which you must study before you apply.  Then you go through the questions.  I noted that some aliens from outside the country may apply to carry concealed as well as me.  I was being treated like them!  I am a U.S. citizen, under the U.S. Constitution.  But I was put on the same level as an alien by state and local government.

Finally I was able to submit my permit application to the local sheriff.  He had to approve my rights, too.  I would undergo a background check with state and federal authorities.  I was sent to the local jail to be fingerprinted.  I had to submit a valid photo id.  All of this would be attached to my permanent record, just so I could pull my sweatshirt over my sidearm so that liberal-minded freaks would not worry.  If all went well, and the government bureaucracy deemed me worthy, and if the local sheriff approved of me, I might receive my permit within....10-12 weeks.

The United States had no gun laws for centuries.  It was common to carry firearms openly or hidden; it didn't matter.  Historic records state that Miles Standish and others carried their muskets to church in Plymouth, MA, in 1621.  Nobody minded.  Today our constitutional rights are watered down, and we have allowed it to happen.  The enemy is not outside the U.S., but within our laws, fees, and bureacracy.  The next time you talk with an elected official, whether it's a sheriff, council member, or legislator, ask them what they will do to eliminate a bunch of laws so we can breathe free again.  Their response will tell you if they are truly for freedom, or just another socialist waiting to enslave the masses with further regulation.

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

So he could vote!  Yes on Reese, No on 3A.  No on Norton and every other DIABLO (that is "Democrat In All But Label Only" according to Mark Steyn) on the ballot.  The liberals may believe in green energy, but the green is all found in your wallet, and it gives them energy.  Stop these socialistic views at the ballot box and let the Libs and the Trib feel the pain.  Vote today!

Bias Against Reese Uncovered

Greeley Report has continued to investigate the UNC attempt to censure Brett Reese for his participation in a gay and lesbian event on campus.  By talking with others at the event besides Reese, we have uncovered a few interesting details that the Lib Trib did not report.

Brett Reese was not the only person at the event that voiced concerns over the homosexual lifestyle.  However, he was the only one singled out for attempted censure.  Others at the forum with concerns were not attacked nor censured.

There were several questions from the floor that had no scientific merit whatsoever.  Many of the questions asked dealt with feelings, emotions, and asking panel members to explain their personal views.  The question Reese asked was actually scientifically connected, and was not provided with any type of serious response.

Greeley Report has obtained a copy of the fact sheet Reese and others distributed.  A full one third of the page is study footnotes.  One third contains facts about sexually transmitted diseases and homosexual activity.  The Lib Trib only chose to report on the remaining third of the fact sheet.

Brett Reese has been singled out for attack over this issue.  Why?  Because he is running for office and making statements that some of the Libs in the community do not like.  The UNC Senate president offered his support to the sexual sodomite community from the floor of the forum, but nobody condemned his biased approach.  He is in a position of authority and must maintain an even-handed and impartial approach to both heterosexuals and homosexuals.  He did not.  The Lib Trib did not write an editorial condemning him.  Instead, they chose to blast Reese with a news article.  This is media bias at its worst.  Today you are getting facts they will not report.  Now that you have all the evidence in hand you are free to consider the merits of the story for yourself.

Reese Responds To Critics

NOTE:  The following article contains the complete, unedited response of Brett Reese to the Greeley Tribune and UNC.  Sam Hill is NOT Brett Reese.  He is simply printing Reeses comments to the article below that Reese sent into Greeley Report as a comment.  Enjoy your trip, Brett.

The vast majority of this nation's citizenry are good people. People in Greeley and surrounding areas are especially solid and of a moral and decent character. However, unlike the militant, ultra-left liberals who are in control of most mass media in this country, these good people are silent. They believe in keeping their businesses operating and paying the tax that supports the rest. These are the people I claim as my own. I come from a farm/ranch operation in Wyoming. But I don't mind conflict, I'm not a "blueblood" like the Tointons, Nortons and the Monforts, and I happen to own Greeley's most listened to radio station. This makes me a real threat to them and their whipping boy, Randy Bangert and Steve Weaver. However, as you have read in today's paper, I have chosen not to comment to them due to their inability to report a story objectively. Alternately, because Sam Hill never rewords or edits my statements, I am choosing to respond to the three separate reporters who called me yesterday and use Sam's forum to do so.

I am currently on vacation in Hawaii, attending my brother in law's wedding. He is a marine just finishing an assignment in Iraq. My wife jokes that I am in exile. The tribune story does not contain my response. I explained to their reporter that if I make a statement to him, it will be misconstrued, then ostracized and "Ed Clarked" in little Mikey Peter's column. I explained to the reporter that I would be happy to respond to any questions his readers may have about either my position on 3A or my participation in the fact dissemination at the Gay indoctrination session on Pirate 104.7fm. I am choosing to include my opinion and my statement here, in a forum where all who want to find it, are able to find truth. I actually also made a statement to both UNC newspapers, as they have not misplaced my trust as of yet. By contrast, the Tribune has annhilated my statements so badly, I don't even recognize them!

UNC's GLBT community is very active in recruiting new members. I don't hate them. Neither do I believe there is room for discrimination of any sort. I attended only because I truly care about the future of these students. My thoughts were also confirmed that there would be no facts provided about STD's and the negative effects of engaging in this lifestyle. Besides AIDS, syphillis and anal warts, there is a multitude of other diseases that are mostly contained to this lifestyle. I would want my children to be made aware of this if they were considering becoming gay. These are facts. Not accusations. And they were given in a very, very caring way. As I walked away I couldn't help but hear the screams, "at least we don't have sex with our sister!". I wished I had recorded the conversation so people could actually understand how caring and gentleness can be responded to with shouts and inaccurate, community-wide libelous reporting.

A final note, before I asked the question about how homosexuality is different than group marriage/sex, the student senate president asked them how he could help further their agenda. I can only hope he meant helping them understand the dangers associated with embracing a disease that will, not may, destroy both their physical and spiritual being. Of course it would be easier to sit in front of the tv and do nothing. Too many of us are doing this already.

Hate Speech, or Free Speech?

The anti-Brett Reese machine is in full swing.  Sam Hill read an article about Reese purportedly passing out fliers at a pro-homosexual event they said was "hateful."  The UNC Senate wanted to condemn his campaign, but couldn't because of policy restrictions.

Sam is going to dig into this issue with his contacts.  He thinks that "citizen" Reese passed out these fliers, while "candidate" Reese did not.  However, the sexual sodomite community wants to link the two together and condemn Reese, and the Lib Trib and others are more than happy to help.

If a heterosexual candidate is condemned for their private social values, the same should hold true for homosexuals as well.  It seems they don't like a level playing field, even more than they despise Reese.  They want everything (including laws) to be weighted in their favor.  Stay tuned to the Trib and other liberal groups.  I'm sure more on this story will be coming out.  They hate Reese, and it sounds like they are adding to their hate speech and non-endorsements by the day.  What will they do when he wins?

Don't Open That Door!

This man has been seen going around Greeley looking for handouts and treats.  If he calls, or uses words like "Mayor" or "3A," DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!  It's a trick, not a treat!

Sam's Pick of Candidates

Sam has been looking for qualities in candidates that he will share with you today.  Instead of playing the popularity game, Sam thinks it is time to look for people who will actually do the work.

• Sam wants people in office who will cut taxes and regulations.  There is too much of both.
  
• Sam wants people in office who will increase personal freedom.  His home-owners association can impose rules, as well as the city, the county, the state and the federal government.  This needs to be rolled back, not imposed further.
• Sam wants bold people in office; not bureaucrats.  In fact, these elected officials may need to lay off administrators and bureaucrats.
• Sam wants people in office who will open the books of the school, city, county, etc.  Mushrooms grow in the dark, but so does corruption.
• Sam wants people in office who will run the illegals out of town.  They are illegal.
• Sam wants people in office like Ed Clark, who will speak their mind regardless of what they print about him in the Lib Trib.
  
• Sam wants new people in office; people not bought off by the entrenched controllers in the area.  People who will actually do some of the things they talk about instead of explaining why they cannot vote that way.

Is this too much to ask?  Sam doesn't think so.  If you are voting like Sam, there are some changes ahead.  Perhaps they will be good changes for our region and the state.

Scary Costumes

Sam was reading the Lib Trib today and found it interesting that the only thing they could get to sell newspapers was an article on Halloween costumes.  Since this time is supposed to be scary, Sam has some really scary ideas for cheap and easy costumes that will rock your neighborhood.  Here they are.

• The Tom-Tom Norton costume.  This tax and spend, play with Kay costume will really scare your wallet.  If you really want to scare bleeding hearts, dress up like an anti-3A flier with Norton's face on it.  That seems to scare libs.
• The Obama costume.  We hope you can find one, and change rather quickly.  You can actually get one of these for free right now, but it will cost you $200 thousand by next year, whether you wear it or not.
  
• The No to 3A costume.  This is a simple paper costume, printed on both sides.  But it scares lazy people who just want to throw money at stupid managers, ludicrous unions, poor teachers and $2,000 desks.  You may have doors slammed in your face if you show up wearing this one!
• The Bangert or Peters costume.  These are pretentious costumes, worn by individuals who claim to do the right thing while actually deal in back rooms.  Just ask any one of a number of business leaders, candidates or public officials about the stories they have either messed up, lied in, or just plain created.
• The Brett Reese costume.  This costume comes running into a room dressed like a pirate, and fires off statements that liberals think are rather loose.  It scares spenders!  It makes people with weak stomachs gasp!  And best of all, it speaks the truth and makes you laugh.  It really is a good costume.
• The hypocrite costume.  This costume is worn by the voter who constantly gripes about everything ranging from liberals to conservatives, the 9.12 group to the Sierra Club.  Yet, they are not informed on the issues.  They also do not vote.  Instead, they merely spout off and hate everyone.  People who wear this costume are being found less and less these days, especially when they read Greeley Report.  They discover that by getting involved they can actually make a difference.  Don't plan on seeing many of these on the street this Halloween.

That Is So Bully

Sam has been watching a Federal "Bully" Bill that may affect you.  It is H.R. 2262.  This bill, sponsored by liberal democrats, removes another degree of authority from school districts the local level and puts it in the hands of your "benevolent" dictators and Obama czars in D.C.

The bill sounds like a good idea.  Stop school bullies!  However, within the list of bullies are those who use various phrases including those against sexual perverts.  The homosexuals are using this to push their agenda.  In teaching children to not bully others, they also want to indoctrinate your children and grandchildren toward their perversions at the earliest possible age.  Elementary school!  Preschool!  They don't care, as long as they can enforce their morality on your children.  The bill includes no funds to enforce it, and it may be used to attach things to your child or grandchild that may be harmful to their education down the road.

One example of what may occur would be this.  When your 4th grade grandchild is playing with his friends and says "you're so gay," that could be construed as hate speech and bullying according to this bill.  This "bully" would then be labeled and taught what a homosexually perverted lifestyle is all about to help clear up his "hating and bullying" tendencies.  It is unclear whether this label would then be attached to the child, to follow him throughout his life, and at what level these labels would remain (local, state or federal files).  Would the "bully" tag keep people out of colleges?  Would it be used to suppress training opportunities?  It would definitely be used to crush free speech at the youngest levels.  This would teach children that speaking out freely and independently is a "bad thing."  In short, the bully bill helps the government create a group of "sheeple" that will not rebel against big brother.

Sam is including a link to the full text of the "bully bill."  Read it for yourself (click here for the link), and call your congressional leaders.  The last thing we need right now is more control in D.C. over our local schools.  Keep school decisions at the local level!  We don't need unfunded mandates either.  We need to fight the bullies all right; the ones in D.C.  We need to take their bill and tell them to shove it.  But they might not like that, because it may appear too strong....and bullying.

Publish It!

Well, well.  It seems that the teachers and District 6 have settled on a new contract for the most part.  And it will include pay raises, medical and retirement funding, and pay of $25 per hour for off-time training.  What else is in the contract?  Sam thinks the entire contract should be put on line and made available to you the taxpayer.  Sam also thinks that every dime of spending for District 6 needs to be put on line.  Then we can see where the money is going.

Sam thinks the problems will get larger for District 6 because they still want to do business as usual.  They were able to find $300 thousand for teacher salary increases, but couldn't find that kind of money for textbooks.  They want to reward both good and bad teachers with the same increases.  They want to increase pay simply for sticking around, even if they are a bad teacher.  This is poor management.  This is what District 6 does.  That's why it is essential to vote no on 3A.  It will force the District to manage, not mangle.

Bang, Bang, You're....Alive?

Sam read the Lib Trib editorial attacking the 9.12 group with great amusement over the weekend.  It is obvious the Trib is the hired gun for Norton and 3A.  Every candidate they support backs 3A.  And Tom-Tom is their poster child.  So the coordinated efforts by little Mikey Peters to say something stupid in his Gnarly Trombone column, along with Bang-Bang Bangert and his editorial attacking the 9.12 group were a unified, biased attack.

Here are the facts.

• The 9.12 group invited both candidates to their mayoral forum.  Norton accepted first, and then lied.
  
• Norton was caught lying, and trying to hide from the 9.12 group.
  
• The Lib Trib never reported any of this until Greeley Report forced their hand.
• Norton will not take a stand on 3A now, even though he can.  He is afraid his desire for $30 million dollars more (not just $16) will come out.The 9.12 group challenged Norton because he is the candidate directly linked to the blue ribbon panel.
• The 9.12 group also challenged 3A in the flier.
  
• Apparently the flier is successful, because the liberal media continues to attack them.
  
• Norton isnt hiding in a cave as the Trib asserts.  He just wont attend mayoral forums, and likes to lie to people he wants to control.  He wants to raise taxes and run his own fiefdom.  (Readers of the Trib, you may have to look that word up in a book called the dictionary.)
• Sam believes the farce is being perpetrated by the Lib Trib.  If the 9.12 group is known by its friends and its enemies, it is a good group!

What A Tangled Web

Lets see.  Greeley city councilman Charlie Archebeque is related to District 6 School board member Linda Trimberger.  Greeley Mayoral candidate Tom-Tom Norton is literally in bed with UNC President Kay Norton.  Tom was also a vital part of the District 6 blue ribbon panel.  Where is he getting all his money?  From big money people.  Look at the audit trail and you will find names like Ehrlich, Monfort and others.  This is hard news, nepotism and a tangled web.  You will discover the same old people trying to manipulate and run the same old things while they raise your taxes.

Gas Or Hot Air?

Sam noted that liberal Democrat Betsey Markey has been appointed to a committee dealing with natural gas and energy development.  Sam saw Markey in action this Summer with her town hall meetings on health care and climate change (can't call it global warming any more, can we).  She is a dud.  She had to bring in a fellow demoncrat from another state to help her with agricultural issues, and when it came to health care she whined her way into taking an indecisive position.  (Every time she does that, she votes lock-step with Obama.)  She is a city girl who built a business using the government machine, and knows nothing about the two largest businesses in Weld County.

This latest appointment of Snarkey Markey is total foolishness on several levels.  First, what right does the government have in controlling oil and gas anyway.  Sam thinks that energy is the right of private ownership, free markets and other issues where the government needs to just disappear.  Second, natural gas is a huge issue in Northern Colorado for our economy.  If Markey is a part of a panel that wants to manipulate energy, attack coal and oil, and try to ramp up todays so-called "green" energy, Sam is suspicious.  Green energy has a place at the table, right alongside oil, coal and others.  Any time the government gets involved it will probably involve higher taxes, more environmental regulation, and selecting the governmental favorites while suppressing others.  Get Markey out of energy!  Get the government out of energy.  We need to drill, explore, pump, refine, and innovate all at the same time.  Markey doesn't know enough to help us in that regard.  From what Sam has seen, she is a bunch of hot air.

And Now For The Other Side

The Lib Trib has endorsed 4 District 6 school board candidates in an amazing display of bias.  They openly endorse 3A, and just about wet themselves with joy as they slap around Brett Reese for opposing it.  They openly endorse his four opponents.  Lets take a deeper look at all five.

• Judy Kron.  Worked with United Way and was involved in the community.  Served on the board for 4 years.  Would not open up District 6 books until Reese and Amy Oliver pushed for more transparency.  Surprise!  She decided to say she was pushing for transparency.  Cannot manage $30 million per year, so she wants $16 million more!  What a crone.  Do not vote for her.
  
• Linda Trimberger.  Former union schoolteacher.  A part of the problem for 30 years.  Trimberger doesn't like transparency, likes liberals, and defends the school district raising their performance by less than 5 percent in 4 years.  They are still failing, but she is proud of their achievement.  She cannot manage $30 million per year, so she wants $16 million more.  She tends to talk a lot and it means very little.  She uses school visits to justify the need for more money.  But she avoids talk about $2,000 desks, tow trucks, lifts, and new computers that are on order.  Do not vote for Trimberger unless you want more of the same.
• Doug Lidiak.  Lidiak was appointed recently to fill a vacancy.  Although he is a newcomer, he sold educational software to District 6 and other districts.  He is as close to being an insider as possible, while being an outsider.  A part of the educational machine.  His business success is all based on teachers unions and establishment, entrenched educational problems across the nation.  Sam doesn't know if Lidiak would be good or not, and may not vote for him.
• Doug Kershaw.  Kershaw threw his hat in the ring for school board at the last minute, immediately after Reese announced his candidacy.  He shows up late to debates and talks about what he doesn't know.  Sam has listened to him intently and found he knows very little about District 6.  He rages on the fiddle, and comes from a poor background.  So what?  He is bought and paid for by the pro-3A crowd.  Sam cannot believe the Lib Trib actually endorsed him.  They must really hate Brett Reese.  Or they are completely biased and stupid.  Probably both.  Do not vote for Kershaw.
  
• Brett Reese.  Reese gleefully enjoys agitating the Lib Trib.  He is a salesman 24-7 for Pirate Radio, which is one of three businesses he owns.  He was accused of throwing around "loose facts."  However, Kershaw and the others seldom throw facts at all.  The incumbents are proud of their record (failure), Lidiak is a new kid, and Kershaw a late-entry to the race that cannot show up on time.  Reese has dug out indications of poor spending, done his homework on national studies, and opposes business as usual.  He home schools his children, probably because homeschooling works.  If District 6 schools actually worked, he might not have to spend the extra money or put in the extra energy needed to home school.  He actually spends more money on education than any of the other school board candidates, because he also pays District 6 taxes for schools his children or grandchildren do not attend.  Vote ONLY for Brett Reese.

Now do you see articles like this in the Libby Tribby?  Well no.  You see, that would be reporting.  They are missing the whole goal of journalism.  They only gather half the data; the portion they want to make their point.  They share that with you, expecting you to be stupid and believe them.  However, you read Greeley Report and other sites.  You listen to Amy Oliver, Brett Reese and others.  You actually make informed decisions and cast informed votes.  This is why the readership at the Trib is shrinking, and Greeley Report is growing.  You want both sides.  Today this column counterbalances the endorsements of Bangart and his boys.  Vote with your pocketbooks.  You may love education, but you hate corruption and overspending.  Get the bums out of education and it will be miles ahead of voting yes on 3A.  Yes on Reese, No on 3A.

Gangs, Illegals, Mismanagement And Schools

According to supporters of 3A, if you love children you will spend $16 million dollars more per year on their education.  If you don't, you are a hater.  Shame on you.  Today Sam will give you a few ideas of his own that will help our teachers, schools and community.  None of these are discussed in the Lib Trib, of course.  Every candidate they have supported is with Tom-Tom Norton and the pro-3A bunch.  So much for unbiased media at the local level.

Here are some recommendations from Sam:

• First, every child that attends school should provide evidence that they are in the U.S. legally.  Have this proof shown before a child is admitted to school.  If a child or family cannot provide that documentation, contact ICE.  We don't need to pay higher taxes so that an illegal thief can be supported free of charge.
  
• Second, put the word out.  "Involved with a gang?  Your door goes bang."  Get them out of schools, instead of forcing schools to "cater" to them.  Did you know that John Evans middle school had to change their color scheme to a neutral color because their old colors involved red and blue?  Sam is sick of seeing law-abiding citizens being forced to cater to gang-types.  He thinks red, white and blue are still good colors.
  
• Third, slash any salary over $100,000 to that level.  We can employ a state senator for less.  Increase their salaries only by the percentage test scores rise each year.
  
• Fourth, fire non-performing teachers.  They are in the system and give the good ones a bad name.
  
• Fifth, involve parents at every level of district 6.  Every committee from security to curriculum.
  
• Sixth, eliminate the hidden plunder in District 6.  Two lifts, a large tow truck (how much did that cost?) and other toys.
  
• Seventh, use the local bus system.  Thanks to Ed Phillipsen for this idea.
  
• Eighth, challenge the feds and the state.  Every program they enact must come with matching funds.  Unfunded programs will not be implemented.
  
• Ninth, share.  Across school boundaries, equipment, bus rides, etc.  There is too much territorial disputing and not enough cooperation in District 6.
• Tenth, take a hard look at the charter schools.  They do better even though they have less money, very similar demographics, and pay for their own buildings.  District 6 hates it when Sam brings it up and tries to play the demographic card every time.  It is not true.  Take a long, hard look at what works, and copy it elsewhere.

Sam is just getting warmed up.  He thinks Greeley and District 6 can be great, but not if we throw more money at the situation.  Lang, Tom-Tom Norton and the big-money people in town are trying to tell us that more money out of our wallets is a better thing.  What is wrong with this picture?  Can you say slavery?  No wonder they are rich and you are not.

Is This Ours?

Is this a Weld District 6 school bus?  They would like to have us think so.  But it's not.  It's a bus for a school in India.  So, how do they graduate all of those Ph.d. and technically trained students when they have such "appalling" busses?  It's easy.  They don't have to deal with unions, and they know that education is not about the money.  You are being lied to by District 6.  They receive $30 million per year from you, and are asking for an annual increase of $16 million besides.  That is $46 million dollars every year!

Right now this district is telling you that when you give them $30 million dollars they can't find a way to spend only $300,000 on textbooks every year.  That sounds like mismanagement to Sam.  People are out of work, private wages are declining, and house values have dropped.  Shouldn't they rein in their spending instead of increasing it?  Absolutely  They also need to learn to manage what you give them now.  Send them that message.  And while you are at it, vote only for Brett Reese on District 6 school board.  And vote against Tom-Tom Norton.  He brings the same mindset to the mayor's office.
