The Lib Trib and Their Bias
Recently the liberal Greeley Tribune revealed their penchant for homosexual activists and hatred for social conservatives in two separate editorials. First, they blasted Marilyn Musgrave for her consistent stance on pro family values. The opined their fears that she may revert to being a "single issue" candidate. Rep. Musgrave has championed economic, farming, ranching and other issues that have helped her Colorado constituents throughout her congressional career. However, this fact was lost to the Tribune. It was as though they were trying to intimidate through media one who disagreed with their shadowy, immoral values. Musgrave has campaigned as a true conservative, and has continued to win with them. The Tribune and associated liberals hate this. Their editorial was merely a shot across the bow of the Musgrave campaign. Prepare for them to endorse whoever runs against her.
The other article was equally biased. On Sunday, July 20, the Tribune reported on the impending Immigration office (ICE) coming to Greeley. It stated the fact that "Conway and Allard" should have solved this larger problem at the Federal level. So, here's the smear. Currently, Sean Conway is a staff member to Senator Allard. Allard votes, works with legislation, and represents the people. While Sean Conway is currently running for Weld County Commissioner on his own merits, Senator Allard is the one who casts votes for bills and has called on ICE to establish an office in Greeley. The call in the Tribune for "Conway" to do something about this is a clever journalistic attempt to transfer negative spin from Allard to Conway, instead of evaluating Conway based on his own merits. Subtle? Yes. Nasty journalism? Absolutely. But then again, what do you expect from the Tribune? Truth? If you do, perhaps you are as liberal or deceived as the paper editors. Keep your eyes open as the campaigns heat up for more bias in the entrenched media. Remember, the cattle processing plant isn't the only odor-generating operation in North Greeley.
