Greeley Report has been watching the voting activities of newly-elected Representative Cory Gardner. Gardner rode a backlash vote to replace dead dog Demoncrat Betsey Markey in Federal office last November. However, it has become quickly apparent he is no Rand Paul in his behaviors. Is he a Dem in RINO clothing?
What has Gardner done? He has endeavored to slow taxes and spending, using his skills as a legislator to try and stanch the flow of red ink in Washington. However, he has failed to repeal the Patriot Act, and has not boldly opposed an increase in the Federal debt limit. These are two issues that are both hot button topics to those that pushed Gardner into office over Markey, and yet he seems to ignore both of them and vote brainless mainstream every time.
Sam Hill has received several letters from Cory Gardner, already soliciting funds to remain in office. While Sam has money to support (and knows others that do as well), he is withholding his funds until Gardner decides whether he is willing to be a statesman and a conservative. While RINO's may scream at this approach and point out the fact that a Demoncrat may beat him in the next election, Greeley Report doesn't find much difference between covert liberalism and the overt brand. Besides, the Patriot Act provisions probably monitor blogs like these anyway. And that's exactly the point. Greeley Report and other freedoms don't deserve to be corralled by anyone, no matter what their political party. Can you hear us now? Later may be too late.
