Shirley

Long ago.

Dennis

Ever smoke pot Shirley?

Shirley

And there's no such thing as a physiological addition to THC. There is such an addiction to alcohol. Do you want to outlaw alcohol again? That worked really well. We had all sorts of organized crime, murder, cartels, smuggling, etc. Kind of like how the marijuana trade is now.

CuppaJoe

Hmmm. I have never seen a bank robbery because of a frito addiction. However, I have witnessed the horrible social effects of all sorts of drugs (including pot), alcohol, etc. There is a line where addictions harm society; that's where society draws the line.

Shirley

Only if abused. Just like alcohol, doughnuts, tobacco, salt, water, Fritos, exercise, etc.

Dennis

Shirley,

So you admit that illicit drugs are harmful (notice how I avoid personal attacks, all in an effort to generate productive debate)?

Shirley

Abuse of any substance for 12 years is a bad idea. Exhibit A is Dennis.

Psych Major

Bobby J,

Methinks you doth protest too much!

Dennis,

It is apparent that you are quite knowledgeable on the subject of illicit drugs. Thank you for providing us with the perspective of one who has "been there."

As a former drug user, you speak intelligently and authoritatively. You are fortunate to have found the strength to beat your addictions and come out a whole person on the other side. For that, I commend you.

Unfortunately, some people who are still caught up in their addictions may find your perspective threatening. They are in "denial" and will likely strike out at anyone or anything who has the audacity to threaten their defense mechanism. So beware the onslaught of criticism that is bound to come your way!

Dennis

Shirley/Bobby J,

I stand by my statements; however, much of what I posted was from Ann Barnhardt. If you would have read it, rather than racing off to degrade my opinion, you would know that.

Have you ever opened your minds to possibilities other than those directed at you from the mass media (hypnosis)?

How will the legalization of pot stop the drug cartels? I already informed you that illicit drugs are a culture. A culture. Do you understand what that means? Have you ever smoked pot? Where did you get it? From who did you get it? Did those people ever do any other illicit drugs? Did they talk about how high they got? How great it was? Do you think they watch the news, or MTV (maybe Spongebutt SquarePants)? Are they gainfully employed? How long have they had their job? What do they think of their boss? What do they think of the police? Do they have a career (not just people that partake, the people selling the drugs)?

Maybe you didn't hear me. I lived it for 12 years! I know what it is. You will not win this argument with me.

cannabus was not an issue in Biblical times. I'm surprised Bobby J that you do not understand the Bible any better than that. There is nothing new on this earth, that He has not addressed.

Bobby J.

Dennis,

Q: What does Gold and Cannabis have in common?
A: They both have substantial intrinsic value.
A: They both store value, cannabis for years, Gold for decades if not more.
A: They both provide substantial competition to the dollar.
A: They both are a function of individuals or private enterprise.

Hopefully a light bulb just went on above your head.

Bobby J.

Dennis,

Your drub prohibition is what created the cartels you fear. IF it were not for you and your control mechanism, we would not be talking about drug cartels because they would not exist.

You are looking forward 6 chess moves in an attempt to run cover for a destructive policy YOU created.

Look back about 20 chess and you will find your answer.

Something tells me you have more than a religious collectivist dog in this fight such as financial interest in a liquor store or maybe even illegal drug trade. Maybe you build prisons, swing batons or wear a black robe. You are concerned your pocket book will be compromised by legalization.

Bobby J.

Dennis,

Your rant is full of assumptions. Starting with the assumption I use a bong, I do not. Secondly Marx believed RELIGION was the opiate of the masses, NOT drugs. Third, your alcohol use is no different than any other substance you put in your body, too much is not better. Fourth, cobbling together a paranoid rant about a third world takeover of America is asinine. Libertarians understand Marx will take over America from within, starting with religion and people like you.
Legalize drugs and the money is gone. When the money is gone, there is nothing left to talk about. Drug criminalization is nothing more than a control issue. You are afraid to control yourself and your family therefore you lash out against society.
One more dingus event I must point out. Shirley and myself never said to legalize ALL drugs. We said to legalize cannabis. Stop changing the argument because you are starting to resemble a lying liberal.
BTW, what happens when a person only takes one hit of that hypothetical joint? I know many that do only take one puff; can you take only one sip from your devil alcohol? God condemns hard drink yet he never singles out Cannabis. Why?

Shirley

I only use alcohol. Should the consumption of alcohol to the point of impairment be illegal? By your logic it should be.

Your conspiracy paranoia isn't healthy, Dennis. But it is amusing. Why is it that people with whom you disagree must be anti-American evil conspirators who lust for your dependence? Read Thomas Sowell for a more reasoned and rational analysis for the difference between left and right.

Dennis

Through the course of my 52 years I have learned that if something makes no sense; the apparent, reporting, and popular logic and reasoning makes no sense, then there is another force at work (it's a lot like fishing; when reeling the line in and finding resistance, it is either a snag or a fish), something covert behind the scenes manipulating and controlling events and perception.

What is happening in Mexico is not a snag. What is happening on our border should be of the gravest concern to Americans.

Dennis

Bobby J/ Shirley,

Here is something to think about, thanks to Ann Barnhardt. (barnhardt.biz) Now I know it's a long read, so you'll have to put down yer bongs, but it goes into what I've been talking about (and no, I'm not in her "following" as I just found her website, and yes I will be following her in the future)

Now a word about drugs. I know that there are many libertarians reading this website who think that legalizing drugs is the solution to everything. It sure is, if you’re George Soros. If you will indulge me for a moment, I’m going to leave the current chess board and try to think five or six moves ahead. Los Zetas overthrow Mexico. The border dissolves and Obama gets his millions of welfare-recipient voters. The Obama regime, which we know is just a front for Soros, legalizes drugs. Soros is pretty much the money behind the entire drug legalization movement. Legalizing drugs in the U.S. would instantly undercut and defund Los Zetas, thus allowing Soros to install a handpicked puppet in Mexico City. And we’re now well on our way to piecing together the Soros global empire. Central and South America could be rolled easily.

Soros, and all Marxist-Communist tyrants, are big fans of drugs because drugs keep the rabble (that’s us) dumb, compliant, desperate and dependant on the state. Soros, Jarrett, Obama, Ayers, Sunstein, Piven and all the rest would love nothing more than for the entire American populace to come home every night from a long day at the welfare office, bread line, and drug dispensary, smoke a joint or a blunt, plop down on the sofa and sit transfixed by pornography, circuses and/or state propaganda. This is how the Soviet Union operated except with alcohol. There may not have been food or toilet paper at times in the Soviet Union, but MIRACULOUSLY the vodka would always manage to appear. This basically eliminated the threat of the male populace to the state. It also acted as a silent genocide by causing dramatic increases in early death AND dramatically decreased fertility rates when coupled with state-provided abortion-on-demand. In case you weren’t aware, Russia’s population today is imploding.

This is what the Marxist-Soros cabal wants the U.S. to look like, and in order to achieve that goal, they need to be the drug cartel. So, back to our original thesis. They would, or already have facilitated the Zetas' overthrow of Mexico by running guns and other high-powered weapons to them via Fast & Furious, which would give the Marxist-Soros machine permanent power by destabilizing the U.S. and stacking the American electorate, and would also position them to then eventually undercut the Zetas, seize and “nationalize” the North American drug trade for themselves and then drug the populace into numbness, compliance, early death and mechanical infertility.

And no, I do not think that alcohol should be illegal. I can drink a given quantity of alcohol and not get drunk. And I do, and I appreciate the flavor of the alcohol as I do other foodstuffs. A person can not smoke a joint and not get stoned. A person can not snort cocaine and not get high. A person can not inject heroin and not get stoned. The only purpose drugs have is the dramatic alteration of a human’s psychological state, and that alteration reduces the ability to think critically and rationally, numbs the person to their surroundings, induces extreme selfishness and inhibits the ability to love. This is the Marxist definition of “the perfect man”. No, check that. In Marxism, the perfect man is the dead man – but the stoned man is the next best thing.

If you’re on that whole libertarian legalize drugs bandwagon, I would seriously advise you to think that position over very carefully – and not while you’re high on weed. Start by looking at who is “on your side”. That alone should be enough to convince you that you’re being played. And look for the Zetas to move on Mexico City well before the 2012 elections. If we even make it that far.

Bobby J.

Shirley,

Your genius is apparent. We are all crazy.

Shirley

Good to know they don't restrict access to the net at the asylum.

Dennis

Shirley,

I am not refuting that the House is now controlled by Republicans. I was merely stating fact. Make of it what you will. It's pretty obvious to me. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Republican. It's just that democrats are my enemy.

No. I am not going to shoot anybody, unless they threaten the lives of me or my family. I am prepared. As Americans shouldn't we all be prepared? That is not only our right, it is our responsibility.

Bobby J,

I understand what you are saying; however, Woodrow Wilson really hit the accelerator on out of control big federal government. FDR then took another giant step with it and then LBJ remarkably scarred our country by steering it directly toward socialism with his "Great Society". Since then we have been spiraling rapidly out of control, surrendering more and more of our liberties by accepting government handouts. This is how democrats gain votes. They buy them with your tax dollar. Then they destroy your religion by abolishing its existence.

Watch BO go for our 2nd Amendment. He will say his priority is creating jobs, but he will act, covertly, to take our guns.

Bobby J.

Shirley,

So when it is Bush’s fault it goes back 8 years or more and when it is the Publicans fault it is current?

Dig deeper. From 1901 to present, some even say Lincoln started the wrong turn (1865), things have taken a turn towards government control. IT is a slow process. Nobody, not even Reagone, rolled the machine back.

The amount of deficit and debt Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and now Obama is all similar when adjusted for true iflation. A few of us call her Creature or Levithan rather than Lady Liberty...

Bobby J.

I wonder if there are any shipping/purchasing receipts/logs on either side of this typewriter transaction? The darn thing didn’t pay for itself and swim to Hawaii.

Shirley

Check the House now Dennis. So you're going to shoot Democrats first?

Dennis

Well that's like since the advent of the television.

Dennis

Something for everybody to think about,

In the House of Representatives the Democrats have been the majority for about 46 of the last 60 years since 1950. The Senate has been controlled by the Democrats for about 40 of those 60 years. The Democrats have controlled at least one or the other of the 2 branches over 50 of the 60 years. The Democrats have controlled both Houses since 2007 - Exactly the period of the current Economic collapse from an all time "high" in July 2007.

Powerball

Happy Birthday Bitch!

Standard & Poor’s announced Friday night that it has downgraded the United States credit rating for the first time, dealing a huge symbolic blow to the world’s economic superpower in what was a sharply worded critique of the American political system.

Lowering the nation’s rating one-notch below AAA, the credit rating company said “political brinkmanship” in the debate over the debt had made the U.S. government’s ability to manage its finances “less stable, less effective and less predictable.” It said the bi-partisan agreement reached this week to find at least $2.1 trillion in budget savings “fell short” of what was necessary to tame the nation’s debt over time and predicted that leaders would not be likely to achieve more savings later on.

Dennis

Americans are so gullible. They have no idea of what is about to happen. So ignorant of history that they believe that we can maintain our present course, brought about by BO and liberal agenda (The Democrats have controlled both Houses since 2007 - Exactly the period of the current Economic collapse from an all time "high" in July 2007..).

when 47% of our population are not stakeholders (taxpayers), as a result of the liberal agenda (buying votes), how will we convince them to vote for America (why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free). Democrats are no longer a viable political party. They have been usurped by radical socialists, much like islam has been usurped by radicals. They are not viable because they do not require votes from free Americans, as their voters have become enslaved by entitlements.
