Greeley Report accurately predicted weeks ago there would be an increase in the debt ceiling. The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on the increase today, and Obama will sign it into law. In true government speak, this world-record debt increase on you and your children is being touted as the best thing possible. It's not.
The emerging "super-congress" played a strong role in the new debt debacle. Key representatives from each of the parties met with the Obama administration to hammer out key elements, and these were then forced upon the rest of the House and Senate. Of course the super-congress is comprised largely of RINOs and compromisers from both sides that want to perpetuate business-as-usual. History has shown us where this leads, and it's not pretty.
Consider this. What do Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, China's Mao and Russia's Stalin all have in common? They all had a Congress. Every one of these men are/were dictators and tyrants, and were also ferocious communists. They all exerted tremendous pressure and influence upon Congress, to force them to do their will. This is how oppression and tyranny came to be imposed on those nations.
Obama has a Congress, too. While there are many that tout the benefits of bipartisan efforts, the fruit of the last few days will bring debt, oppression and more government control to you and to your children. Greeley Report wonders what hidden line-items were inserted into this spending bill. It's been done before. Gun control? Personal freedoms eroded? More intrusion into your life? Even the Republicans broke their commitment to publish a bill for 3 days, to give it proper time for reading and study before casting a vote. Tyrants love pressure, and Obama is no exception. Congress caved, and he loves it. They won. You lost. America slides downward once again.

Quicksand is a hard thing to extract oneself from, however, with great effort and tenacity, it can be done, and needs to be done with a great sense concern and urgency. The B.S. must stop immediately.

Really nothing has changed. That was reflected on Wall St. today.
