Senator Mike Kopp (R-Littleton) has announced his resignation from the Colorado State Senate to help his family (4 children) after the death of his wife from cancer this past Summer. His departure will set up a vacancy that was filled by a RINO before him, and can certainly handle a true conservative. Hopefully the committee that replaces Kopp will follow his lead instead of going the way of the brainless in the party.
Kopp embodies everything that the political process should be. He returns home to care for his children, a widower grieving over the loss of his wife. He values his faith, his family and his roots. He trusts the process to work. When he returns to the private sector it will not be as a lobbyist, but to work in the skill set he has outside that realm. We wish him well.
As true conservatives are term-limited out of office in Colorado there must be a constant effort to replace them. Where will the next great senator or representative be found? Could it be you? Me? We are a nation of citizen politicians, and we should remember that. Thanks Mike, for your service to us. You will be missed.
