The Occupy Wall Street (OWS) crowd in Richmond, Virginia has been running up quite a tab. They have logged at least $7,000 in costs for various services including sanitation, park fees and permits, not including all of the extra police overtime and security costs. However, the "benevolent" mayor said that these people were merely exercising their rights, so they didn't have to pay for these things. After all, this was America.
After hearing that, the local Tea Party submitted an invoice to the city for $8,500. That was the amount the city had charged them for services rendered during their rallies in the city. The good mayor did not recognize the Tea Party group as exercising their rights. They had to pay. Apparently they were un-American.
Then a funny thing happened. The mayor's administration decided to audit the Tea Party. Nobody else. Just them. They demanded all of their financial issues be satisfied or they would assess fees and fines accordingly. Now this issue will move toward the courts because of the mayor's clear-cut bias and hatred of the group that leans toward the Constitution, instead of away from it.
This is nothing new. The head of the local Greeley 9-12 group "just happened" to have code enforcement visit his house and find a few "issues" just after the group weighed in on local politics. It cost him financially, when he stepped up politically. Politicians have tried to silence those they deem to be offensive for years. So why don't they silence OWS? At this point OWS is screaming at Wall Street. They aren't turning the people back to the law, but moving toward lawlessness. This is more acceptable to the political left than the law. Politicians fear those that want for America to become a law-abiding society, with less partiality and more integrity. So the Tea Parties will always incur more hatred than OWS, despite the fact that the leftists scream louder and cause more damage. If that's the case, it's time for the right to double-down and work hard during this election season coming up. The right has might, and they need to use it effectively. I wonder if the person who started OWS had good intentions. I wonder if they regret that what they started became what it became?

Comparing the OWS mobs to the Tea Party is one of the great frauds of our time; they have one thing in common, both went out in public, the comparisons end there.

This does not surprise me. America has turned toward evil. This rot will continue. Bobby J., you are exactly right.
I have yet to receive a response from Cory Gardner concerning the letter I wrote to him asking what action he will take to have congress abide by all laws that they pass. This, of course would put an end to congress' insider trading. So, as of yet, no comment from Cory Gardner on this issue. I will write to him again.
government for the people, by the people?

Wait till they only enforce laws against conservatives.
Selective law enforcement not based on race but on political affilation. It is just around the corner.
