His name is Uehara Haruo, and he is the former president of Saga University. He is also the architect of the Fukushima Daiichi Reactor #3 that was overwhelmed by the Japan tsunami on March 11, 2011. But his recent comments were completely ignored by the mainstream media, even though the issues presented could impact the climate and health of the Western United States for decades to come.
Haruo was interviewed in Tokyo on November 17, 2011. In his interview he stated that a "China syndrome" is an inevitible consequence at the Fukushima plant. (Remember, he's the architect!) Haruo disclosed the fact that the melted nuclear fuel did move out of the container vessel and sank underground. (This is the catastrophe known as the China syndrome.) He added this: if the fuel has reached an underground water vein, it will cause contamination of underground water, soil contamination, and sea contamination of the Pacific Ocean. Furthermore, if the underground water vein is heated for a long period of time it could cause a large hydrovolcanic explosion.
Meanwhile, radioactive debris is spreading in the Pacific Ocean, and a recent report indicated a radioactive level in Los Angeles, California that is 300 percent higher than normal levels. (Link here to video clip investigating this story.) No word is mentioned in Colorado about radiation levels locally, despite the fact that the dairy industry is particularly susceptible, and is a key element of the local economy. How does this affect you and me? Nobody knows at this point. But somebody needs to get the word out, when the architect of Fukushima speaks openly concerning the damage, the fallout, and the global implications that could affect our lives at the local level.
