"You think giving government just a bit more money and a bit more power, they will make all the evil go away"

??????

Nothing could be farther from the truth Bobby J.

"It’s called the free market/ liberty and it is the only hope of the Christian."

You know better than that.

You and I are actually not so far apart. Perhaps our biggest difference is drugs, which is why you want Ron Paul. I like a lot of things that Ron Paul stands for, but he is SO far off base on as many issues. It's OK that Iran has nukes? Really?

That and he wants to illegalize the war on drugs.

read my post on the 12/19/2011 article

Just so you know, Bobby J., no link to youtube carries much weight. I don't watch them.

Why won't Sam ever respond to my initial question?

Bobby J.

God Bless America,
I can’t speak for everyone but I can speak in terms of Ron Paul, The United States Constitution and libertarians. We do not want to kill Jews, Muslims, Americans or anybody. Death and murder is not good. The United States Constitution at its core, is a doctrine of non-violence. With that being said, there will always be evil men who want to use force against others. This is why we have very specific enumerated powers. Here are a few of the powers granted.
To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;
To provide and maintain a Navy;
To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;
To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;
Ron Paul and Libertarians know and respect these powers of DEFENCE.
On a scale much closer to home we also respect and advocate the following law.
“A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

So please do not purposely confuse Pacifism with defense. Do not purposely confuse defense with offense. Do not purposely confuse prosperity with war profiteering. Do not purposely confuse peace with war mongering.

Bobby J.

Dennis,

I know why you referenced Ben Stein. It was not him, it was what he said. He wants his first amendment rights, so do you and so do I.
Here is where we disagree. You think you can create a school system that embraces Christianity and I know that will never happen again. You think you can create a moral society, I know that will never happen again.
You think giving government just a bit more money and a bit more power, they will make all the evil go away I think expansion of government will only expand the evil.
Christians could create niche in society, i.e. good schools, if they were not forced to fund secular schools. Christians could have a small bit of what they want however via excessive taxation and regulation, they are intrinsically linked to secularism. This is why I get squeamish every time you talk in terms of making the collective better. The only way to make the collective better is by reducing the size, scope and influence of the collective.
It’s called the free market/ liberty and it is the only hope of the Christian. Not that it will make the world better but it will give people choice. With a free market, you can choose. With command and control, you have no choice.

Bobby J.

It really stinks knowing that half of our day’s labor goes to government. There are so many better things we could be doing with our time than feeding worthless parasites.

Both the parasites who create the problems and the parasites who pretend to solve the problems. This wolrd needs to be dewormed.

Shirley,

It has nothing to do with Jew good or bad. It has to do with modern fiat slavery and its supporters.

Some slave drivers are Jewish but many are not. I don’t like any slave drivers. If you are not a slave driver, yet Jewish, you are fine by me.

Slave drivers/authoritarians come in all shapes and packages, I don’t like any of them!

Shirley

2 evangelicals who can't agree whether Jew is good or bad. Funny stuff.

Dennis

Amen.

God Bless America

Here's one more pearl of wisdom from Dr. Ray to contemplate:

If the Palestinians put down their weapons, there'd be peace. If the Israelis put down their weapons, there'd be genocide.

God Bless America

Wow, Dennis seems to have really hit a nerve.

Taken from Dr. John Ray's website, Dissecting Leftism, with whose sentiments I wholeheartedly agree:

"And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed" -- Genesis 12:3

My (Gentile) opinion of antisemitism: The Jews are the best we've got so killing them is killing us.

I have always liked the story of Gideon (See Judges chapters 6 to 8) and it is surely no surprise that in the present age Israel is the Gideon of nations: Few in numbers but big in power and impact

Bobby J.

Dennis Wrote: "I have always been confounded by people that claim to be Christian, yet they are anti-semitic. "

Dennis,

What in the Sam Hill are you talking about?

As a Christian you should be wary of anybody who is not Born Again, even Christless Jews!

You do not read your Bible enough, especially the NT.

You do not comprehend communism, Marx was a Christless Jew.

Now you are going to label me an anti-Semite because I do not support a centralized, monopolistic, fiat currency, the fifth communist plank?

Goodwin:
“When there is dissent expressed here in the United States against Policy of the Israeli government, people here are called anti-Semitic.”
Shulamit Aloni :
“It’s a trick, we always use it.”

Thank you Bobby J. Your post was very insightful, explaining a lot to me about you. I have always been confounded by people that claim to be Christian, yet they are anti semitic. This puts in perspective most of the opinions that you have posted on this site.

By quoting Ben Stein I was in no way agreeing with everything he has ever said. I just found the quote by him, that I posted, profound.

Paulson's Ploy Part II: When Ben Stein Speaks, I Listen. . . to What World Jewry Is Planning
Christopher Jon Bjerknes

http://www.jewishracism.com

http://www.jewishracism.blogspot.com

I listen to what Ben Stein has to say, not because I like him, not because I believe him to be wise or insightful, not because I agree with what he has to say; but rather because I know that he is a prominent spokesman for World Jewry. I listened when Stein talked about Israel dropping a nuclear bomb on Tehran. I listened when Stein pitched the idea that nationalizing the banks would be fine by him. I heard him say it on some cable news network talking heads program. An internet search netted me the following quotes from Stein,

"The Fed must act decisively to calm these fears by reassuring lenders. This might even take the form of legislation allowing the Fed to buy stock in large banks on a temporary basis. The banks are already largely socialized through federal deposit insurance. To add the prop of government capital infusions is not such a big step."--Ben Stein, "Larry, Curly, Moe and the Economy", The New York Times, http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/13/business/13every.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss (13 January 2008).

"In turn, this led to huge infusions of liquidity into the banks of the world, the semi-nationalization of the banks of the United States and of many other nations to shore them up, thaw credit, and bolster world markets and economies. These were drastic steps for drastic times, all generated by derivatives. Warren Buffett had warned us against them, and he was dead right, as always. Now, these acts should help."--Ben Stein, "Why I'm Still Buying", Yahoo! Finance, http://finance.yahoo.com/expert/article/yourlife/115733 (17 October 2008).

The fifth plank of the Communist Manifesto states,

"Centralisation of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly."--Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, The Communist Manifesto, Bantam Books, New York, (1992), p. 42.

The reason why the Jewish bankers want a monopoly on credit is so that they can control the flow of money, eliminate all Goyish competition, control all spending, and most ominously have the power to drive a nation into a crippling endless depression with the flick of a switch by limiting credit. When a Zionist Jew like Ben Stein talks about nationalizing the banks, Americans with any survival instinct left in them ought to rise up against the idea in peaceful, legal and sophisticated protest.

Dennis you don't get it.

Ben Stein is not pushing his Jew values on others, he asking that atheist values are not pushed on him.

Anytime you demand collectivism, you are empowering the Godless Communist.

I think it is funny you quote a guy who made millions selling Visine to stoners.

Dennis

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God ? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said okay.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Ben Stein

Personal responsibility is taught to children by parents through loving lecture, discussion, and most importantly example.

Bobby J.

Personal responsibility starts and ends with you.

Dennis

Why?

Because I wish for a return to personal responsibility?

Bobby J.

Dennis,

You are an authoritarian.

Dennis

Merry Christmas to you too Rick Jones!

Powerball

obama is my shepherd; I shall not work.
He keepeth jobs out of the hands of the people,
Which leadeth the country to class warfare and polarization.
He encourageth sloth; he leadeth the government to new hights in deficit spending.
Yea, though I walk in the shadow of Economic collapse,
I shall fear no depression; for obama is with me.
His handouts and monetary indiscretion supplement my income.
He maintaineth spending increases in the presence of insurmountable debt;
He punisheth businesses with excessive regulations;
And giveth the hard-earned fruits of labor to the unproductive.
Surely, handouts and stimulus payments shall follow all the days of his administration;
And I will stay unemployed forever.
