They Vote Today

The members of the U.S. Supreme Court will vote on the future of Obamacare today.  This is the first of several votes that determines those who initially support the oppressive measure, and those who don't.  Today's vote is non-binding, and is held to assess the various initial positions of the justices.  From here assignments will be handed out, to write the majority and minority opinions.

There will not be much discussion today about Obamacare.  Beginning with the Chief Justice, the members will share a few sentences and cast their votes.  Work assignments will be dictated by Chief Justice Roberts, and the real work of opinions and written thoughts will begin.  This will coalesce into a final ruling that will be released to the public, probably by the end of June.

The ruling could be revealed earlier if there is a greater consensus regarding Obamacare.  If the prevailing sentiment is that it does not belong, the ruling may be more simple and direct.  Will it stay or will it fail?  It's difficult to tell based on the questioning process, because the justices have been known to play to the other side, just to draw out a certain line of thinking or interpretation.  Now the real work behind the scenes begins.  Hopefully, this tyrannical measure dies a large, public death.  (Click here for a more detailed explanation of the process.)

It's A BIG Deal!

Barack Obama's conversation with Russian President Medvedev was supposed to be private.  Instead, there was an open mic in the area, and it caught him telling the Russian that after the election he would have more latitude to deal with issues that pertain to U.S. and Russian security, military policy, and foreign agreements.  We want to know what he meant.

This week a Canadian military intelligence officer was arrested.  He has been charged with handing over U.S. and Canadian secrets about our Naval operations, submarines, and secret travel lanes that up until now had been virtually undetectable.  Who received these secrets?  Russia.  This is the same Russia that Obama regards as a friend (while he treats conservatives in his own nation as enemies).  His conversation is truly one of the biggest deals in Presidential history, and he is simply laughing it off.  So is the mainstream media.

Obama must be drummed out of office.  November can't come soon enough.  The man has soiled himself in so many ways, he is a threat to the nation he purports to lead.  Russia can have him, or any other nation in this world.  We need a real American President for a change.  Obama is a threat, living under a false Social Security Number that is flagged as fraudulent by e-verify.  Don't tell me this is not news.  It's huge, but the left doesn't want you to know.  (Click here for article regarding Canadian Intel Arrest.)

A Day Full Of Government

Yesterday Sam was driving down the highway, and passed a billboard that told him to "buckle up for safety."  Later he saw one that warned of the dangers of texting and driving.  It wasn't too far away from yet another one discussing the dangers of meth use.

Sam has friends that had a struggling marriage.  They found a local marriage seminar that was provided at "no charge" to them.  They still fight, but now they use the class rules when they do.

At the hospital the other day, Sam overheard someone disclose the fact that they had no insurance while at the Emergency Room.  This person was indigent and illegal.  The government picked up their bill.

Sam has watched District 6 pay for school breakfasts and lunches on behalf of students that have not eaten at home, or brought food.  They claim it helps the students do better in school.

Who paid for these items?  Well, you did.  Actually, you paid the taxes to the government.  They took their chunk for overpaid bureaucrats that processed grants, laid out grand social schemes, and mapped out ways to make the government the societal savior.  Then they disbursed the remainder to organizations that came to the government, hat-in-hand, to take some of that government money because "after all, it's free."

The next time you turn on the radio and hear a "public service" message, chances are, you paid for it.  If you hadn't paid for it, people would have had to take personal responsibility.  Children would have to turn to parents to eat meals.  Couples would have to resolve their marital conflicts with the help of social organizations that don't take government handouts, and billboard companies might have to adjust their fees downward.  After all, they profit handsomely from government dollars.  Government is everywhere these days, and it's time to slash spending and regulation.  It's the only way to get control of this runaway society.  Some may be hurt, but those that are wise will find better alternatives in the private sector.  Because in the end, big government is not the solution.  It's the problem.

Open Mic, Insert Treason

Yesterday the Obama campaign team added hoodies to their promo items, because after all the little dead thug Trayvon Martin is now a poster child for the offended left.  But what Obama was doing with his Russian counterpart is more offensive than anything he might say about the Martin-Zimmerman case.

Obama met with outgoing Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, to discuss the issue of the U.S. Missile Defense Program.  Obama asked Medvedev for leniency, and also asked the message be relayed to incoming President Vladmir Putin.  Obama's statements are damning.  He said that this would be his last term as President and that he would have more latitude to deal after elected.  America, sit up and take note! If you thought the last four years were bad, just wait until he can do what he really wants!

America was not the only country to express alarm over this on-mic slip.  Poland wanted to know if Obama was going to sell them down the river to Russia.  Other Eastern Bloc nations want to know what Obama intends to do.  However, it should be Americans that demand the explanation without laughing it off.  Obama can get serious about a gang-thug in a hoodie and take his side of a story, but he laughs off an international incident when asked about that.  How corrupt can you be?  Once again, his actions are duplicitous.

This comes on the heels of a find on the East Coast of documents that may link him to a Kenya birth, instead of one in Hawaii.  Stay tuned.  There is much more under the surface of this President than he wants to have America know.

Presumption of Innocence

The racial haters were warming up their lynch-mobs over the weekend.  Seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by a white man, and the majority of the pundits automatically assumed it was a hate crime.  Then an eyewitness weighed in.  According to his report, Martin attacked George Zimmerman, the white, neighborhood watch volunteer, and Zimmerman shot the teen in self-defense while he was being attacked and beaten.  A broken nose, crime scene investigations and the 911 call also verified these details.

But Obama, the alleged Constitutional lawyer, had already weighed in, taking the side of the aggressive teen.  Black Panthers have placed a dead-or-alive bounty on the white man.  Marches and rallies were staged nation-wide this week, and in the meantime the U.S. Constitution has been forgotten or completely ignored by vigilante activism.

There is a reason for the presumption of innocence in our laws.  Crimes are committed and accidents happen.  When they occur, emotions are high, and witnesses must be deposed.  Arrests and charges may be forthcoming based on the evidence, or they may not happen at all.  These details are dealt with, hopefully, in a more dispassionate manner, so that justice may be done.  The masses are not just.  They are emotional.  As details and facts emerge, the full story is known.  Then and only then, can justice be served.

The police did not file charges based on the evidence of the case.  That is when the cries of racism began.  The neighborhood watch volunteer weeps over the life he felt compelled to take, in order to save his own.  There is a bounty on his head and death threats from black hate groups.  A young teenager is dead, shot for his stupidity.  Obama quickly steps into the fray because once again he's sure it's a minority against white issue.  Either that, or he wants to divide the nation using racism.  He's a master at it.  He sat under the preaching of Jeremiah Wright long enough to know how to hate others.  This may be a true, racist crime.  If not however, it is great propaganda used by the left to incite violence, divide the nation, and create a state of emergency.  Then what?  According to recent executive orders, Obama rules.  The teenager is not the only death in the news these days.  The truth is dead, too, and so is the U.S. Constitution.

Double Standard

According to some today, things are sailing along just smoothly.  Obama inherited a disaster from Bush and has done his level best to provide liberty and justice (but not for all).  He loves government funded liberty for solar energy, while he bashes clean coal that is much cheaper, much more stable, and incredibly clean.  He loves justice for blacks or those he decides have been wronged, but he ignores justice for others.  It is a double standard in the nation, and it is becoming more obvious all the time.

Consider the case of the soldier that killed civilians in Afghanistan, versus the Ft. Hood Islamic killer of Americans.  Here is a quote Sam received about that this week, and it's a good one.

"After reading the headlines today about the US soldier who shot up Afghanistan civilians, I couldn't help noticing an irony.  There is all this clamor to try this guy quickly and execute him, never mind his having suffered a traumatic brain injury.  Yet this Major Hasan, who shot up Fort Hood while screaming 'Allah akbar', still hasn't stood trial, and they are still debating whether he was insane - even with the clear evidence regarding his motive: 'slay as many infidels as possible'.  So we have a guy in a war zone who cracks, and he must be executed immediately.  But, this Muslim psychiatrist who was stateside in a nice safe office all day murders 13, wounds 29 of our own guys, and they try to argue the poor man suffered post-traumatic stress syndrome, from listening to real soldiers who had actual battle experience.  Two and a half years later, they still haven't tried the murderous bastard."

Is there a double standard?  You bet there is, and it is led by the tyrants at the top.  Obama hope?  Nope!

Remember, B.G.?

Greeley Report received a letter from the Greeley Gazette the other day, and it prompted Sam to do something he rarely does.  He picked up a rare copy of the Greeley Tribune, to contrast the two.  The Lib Trib had a few of the local happenings, and newsfeed items from places like the Associated Press.  Sam also knows that they feature liberal drivel about the arts and "faith" (if you could call it that) on weekends.  But it was a pretty sad experience, and made Sam wonder why on earth advertisers would bother buying space in such a publication.

Then Sam logged in to the Gazette online.  It was free.  It had less of the local stuff, probably because people didn't call with the information.  It didn't have all of the general news stories from AP.  But it actually had some news that others would not cover.  True, it made Sam miss the local sports scores and a few of the local features.  However, Sam did not miss the liberal twist and constant barrage of the liberal social agenda featured in the other publication.

Does anyone remember what was in the Tribune prior to the Gazette?  There was a great deal of misreporting and flat-out intentional distortion.  People ranging from senators to school board members were hammered, misquoted and restated, just to support the Trib agenda.  This out-of-state-run publication was the only game in town, and they edited letters to the editor and and did whatever they wanted.

Then came the Gazette.  People mocked it, criticized the writing, the lack of local flavor, and the "spin" the stories had.  But read it, they did.  And many also noted what happened with the Lib Trib.  It had to adjust.  They had to quote things more accurately at times.  They had to back off from their liberal bent occasionally.  Why?  They had competition.  The Gazette gave people other stories, unreported news.  They broke national news items at times, and didn't bother paying the AP their handsome fees, just to give someone garbage to read.  It was new, and it made the city better.

Does Sam still like the little stories with local flavor?  You bet!  He hears them on local radio now.  The local sports are an enjoyable part of life too, and he picks up the scores from the games themselves, or from friends that are connected.  He remembers life before the Gazette, and he is glad to get his news and views from a variety of sources these days.  Thanks Greeley Gazette.  Sam doesn't always agree with your views, but he is glad you are here. 

Democrats, RINO's and Conservatives

The Democrats are quietly waiting in the wings, supporting their 2 or 3 candidates in the area behind the scenes while they gleefully watch the conservatives and Republicans wade through the primary season.  They hope that the RINOs will prevail and that they will have candidates much like their own, so they can bash conservatives for not being true to their views.  While this may be more true at the Federal level, they are missing the shift at the local and state gatherings.  RINOs are starting to lose, and it will soon become obvious.

In the past, many in Northern Colorado have been assured of winning simply because they had an R behind their name.  This brought people like Tom-Tom Selders into the camp that would flip flop back and forth between parties, just to try and sway politics depending on the way the wind was blowing.  However, since the emergence of 9.12 groups, tea parties, Ron Paul activists and Obama, the shift toward the right has been palpable.  Some on the right have galvanized.  While they may fight among themselves because they are truly independent thinkers (as opposed to being sheeple), there is a core value system emerging that thinks along the lines of fiscal responsibility, a return to closer alignment with the Constitution, and a moral value system closer to conservative ethics.

What this will do in November remains to be seen.  It won't have as much of an impact nationally, yet.  But the shift in Colorado has begun.  The primary campaigns will reflect it at the local levels, and in some races there may actually be a clear choice between candidates instead of just party labels.  That would be a good thing for a change.  The conservatives have more than an even chance, and the liberals know it.

Revised Tyranny

On Friday the White House released a new and updated executive order giving the President of the United States broad jurisdiction that has stirred up many.  Among the items the government can control are things like water, food, and your body.  You can be conscripted into military service, or be forced to work for the government at any job they deem necessary.  These issues are not just for wartime, but also in times of peace at the President's discretion.  It sounds like tyranny to me.

Proponents of the order will point out the fact that other Presidents (e.g., Clinton and Bush) have enacted such measures and this is merely an "update."  Opponents will point out the fact that this one is significantly different, more broad, and according to some statements was drafted in the background by Henry Kissinger, a long-time globalist.  It was also released on Friday, a day when notoriously sensitive information is dumped into the media channels in hopes people will be watching basketball, NASCAR, or something else besides the tyranny channel.

Regardless, the executive order is in place, and it affects you.  It may have been written in Washington, but it is very local in application.  Read it for yourself.  Decide if any sitting President should have this kind of power.  (Click here to read the order.)

Thompson Schools Lay Off Workers. What About District 6?

Thompson School District (in the Loveland area) has announced it will eliminate 48 positions at the end of this school year.  This comes on the heels of their district lay-off of 187 employees at the end of the 2010-2011 school year, and is a result of the financial pressure all of the Northern Colorado school districts face.  A significant portion of every business is employee-related, and this is especially noted among school districts.  Thompson has taken the steps to rein in costs, by dealing with staff issues now.

What steps has Weld District 6 taken in this regard?  Apparently none, based on their recent focus and communications.  Presentations by School Board leader Doug Lidiak have not dealt with any staff reduction issues, choosing instead to focus on the need for additional revenue for the district.  This will be a difficult sell, to increase taxes out of local pockets when others are laying off instead.

District 6 receives millions of dollars every year.  They have tended to block the insertion of innovation and private enterprise for years, holding back charter schools, denying parental involvement at the administrative and curricular levels, and denigrating ideas such as school vouchers or public contract negotiations.  This has left parents and taxpayers with a sense of distrust.  Their wallets are not open because their faces have been repeatedly slapped by the administration.  Perhaps it's time for District 6 to begin to cut back as well, given the fact that their present plans are not sustainable until they become accountable.

Thompson Schools have decided to address their staffing issues and cut back.  This may impact school programs and things people like, but they made the call.  They will live within their means.  How does District 6 plan to do this without increasing their spending?  Watch and learn.  You are about to get an education.

What's That Smell?

Greeley Mayor Tom Norton gave his "State of the Union Colony" address at the local Republican breakfast this week, with slides and glib words.  He touted the fact that Greeley is solvent, looking for growth, and has recruited a cash cow or two such as Leprino Foods, to help bring jobs to the area.  He also mentioned the thousands of potholes filled by the city crews.  Norton also mentioned the fact that Greeley has wide streets that need several million dollars more in maintenance, and the city needs to bring in more revenue.  Every municipality faces this burden these days, so that was no surprise.

Norton did take a few questions, and there were a couple surprising issues.  First, no mention was made of the tow truck measure, where Norton and the Greeley City Council refused to allow tow truck drivers to park their vehicles at home.  Norton lauded the response times of police and fire crews in Greeley, but he failed to mention any time that was wasted on-site, for example, at an accident scene.  The tow truck measure would reduce tow response times significantly, but Norton and the city didn't want it.  Those big, job-generating, fast-responding trucks must be an eyesore in neighborhoods.  The threat of neighborhood blight beat out common sense.

One question that seemed to surprise Norton was the question about the University of Northern Colorado serving halal (Islamic) food.  He said that he would basically stay out of it, but that it was in response to their "needs."  It was obvious that the rank-and-file were not happy with either Norton or his spouse, UNC President Kay Norton.  They seemed to think the University has opened a dangerous door by catering the religious demands of Muslims.

So what were the overall observations?  First, Greeley is better off than some cities, worse than others.  They love to over-regulate, cater to Muslims, push for big business, and pretend to be conservative when they are socially liberal (and always want more tax money).  People aren't very happy with the arrangement, but there doesn't seem to be a groundswell of support for any alternative candidate.  Greeley is stuck with Norton, at least for another term.  What's that smell?

What Is NDPC?

A Reuters exclusive news article has disclosed that the Obama administration is willing to give top secret  U.S. Missile Shield data to the nation of Russia!  That, my friends, is material that you and I cannot see because of its highly sensitive nature, but the Obamunist wants to give it to Russia!

Russia has opposed the installation of the missile shield in neighboring nations such as Poland, and the U.S. wants to soften them up a bit, by sharing data.  (Again, they wouldn't tell you, but they will tell Russia.)  They would provide technical data on how the shield works, how quickly the rockets burn out, etc.  And of course they would handle everything through the NDPC.

What is the NDPC?  Apparently this stand for the National Disclosure Policy Committee that is an "inter-agency group" in the U. S. Government.  Wait a minute!  If we are going to disclose anything, it should go through Congress and be voted on before any release is made!  But this is how the government is working these days.  They just make internal, bureaucratic decisions to share data, and then they share it with other nations, even if they may be enemies.

Again, this is another reason why Obama must go.  So too, must these committees.  They fly in the face of everything our forefathers installed as a check and balance in government.  Reuters is reporting.  What will Congress do with this one?  (Link here to Reuters story.)

Don't Die!

Ah, those ridiculous little politicians.  Where do they come up with there ideas?  There is the leader of the small Italian town that ordered the people in his village "not to die" this past week!  And then there is German Chancellor Angela Merkel.  She wants to tax sites like Drudge, just for showing up in her country via the internet.  They are such lovable types, aren't they.  (Insert chuckle here.)

Of course U.S. leaders are no different.  They can gut the Bill of Rights on the national level, and force everyone to have health care and death panels that lets the government determine when your time is up (just the opposite of the Italians, that want you to keep on living).  At the state level, they can let criminals and illegals carry firearms anywhere they want, as long as they don't get caught.  Citizens can carry firearms too, as long as they don't put a sweater over them.  Then, you need a government sanctioned permit, because after all, you are a law-abiding citizen.  Ahem.

These are the thought processes of people in government today.  Remember that when you question candidates.  The right to carry firearms means just that.  You have one, you carry it.  Period.  You are a citizen, not an illegal that seeks permission from the government to breathe!  The government should protect the borders (something they aren't doing a good job at), provide for interstate transport with a few roads, and butt out!  But that is just Sam's opinion.  Perhaps though, it would be a good place to start the dialogue with friends and neighbors...and politicians these days.  After all, they are telling us when to live and when to die.  Shouldn't we be telling them a few things while they listen for a change?

It Doesn't Go Far Enough

News reports on other sites report today that House Concurrent Resolution 107 has been introduced, to impeach Barack Obama if he consults with international agencies regarding the introduction of U.S. military troops and armament into a battle.  This was precipitated by an exchange between Obama's staffer Leon Panetta and Congressman Pete Sessions, where Panetta told Sessions that international consultation trumps Congress, the Constitution, and every other law in place in the United States.

But this resolution in the House doesn't go far enough.

• Obama should be impeached for having a phony birth certificate and selective service registration card.  If you were discovered to have fraudulent documents, would you be at work today?  No.  You would be in jail!  Obama must live by the same law.

• Obama should be impeached for introducing and passing NDAA, that allows for the arrest and indefinite detention of U.S. citizens (that's you and me, folks).  This in itself is a violation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

• Obama should be impeached for Obamacare.  As the bill is read, it is all the more horrifying and demands access to your bank accounts.  And yes, it does have death panels.  He should also be impeached for refusing to demand that Elena Kagan recuse herself from the Supreme Court during proceedings about Obamacare.  He has stacked the deck and played partisan politics.

• Obama should be impeached for continuing the Patriot Act, to be used against U.S. citizens.  It has already been confirmed as one horrible piece of legislation, but he continues it despite the fact that he promised to shut it down.

• Obama should be prosecuted for not closing our borders, and pushing instead for his friends outside the country to be brought in, carte blanche.  He has politicized national security at the expense of our safety, that that alone would be enough to throw him out of office.
  

There is a great likelihood that Obama will remain in office, however.  Most Republicans don't have the courage to do something against him, let alone the Democrats.  Ask yourself how many of these bills the Republicans voted into being, or how many approved Kagan to the Supreme Court bench.  They are gutless, and that is precisely the problem.  No, the current resolution doesn't go far enough, but at least it's a start.  Someone has courage to stand, and for that we express our thanks.  It's too bad it's nobody from around here.

It Isn't Just Me

• This week thoughts and comments from various readers have poured into my e-mail address (mr.samhill@yahoo.com) along with news tips and ideas.  Thank you for each of those.  Thank you for your concern for Northern Colorado, and for the United States of America.  It makes this blogger know this.  It isn't just me.

• It isn't just me that is concerned about the fact that the documentation the President of the United States of America posted on the official White House website has been found to be a fraud.  Furthermore, at least one other document (Obama's selective service registration) is also forged.  There is a conspiracy to show Obama as something he is not.  This is an impeachable offence and it began as a push to clear the President's name and validate his story.  The United States of America is being run by an impostor, and you are concerned as well.

• It isn't just me that screamed out in anger when Leon Panetta told Congress to take a hike.  When he said that international interests trump our elected representatives, it made us want to call our senators and representatives.  He should be tried for treason.

• It isn't just me that sees through the "green energy" lies.  One reader sent a "bumper sticker" to Sam that said:  "Money Laundering.  The only green jobs Obama can deliver."  It hit the nail on the head.  Vestas, Solyndra and Abound are being paid for by surcharges on coal, oil and gas (and funded by our tax dollars).  We think all government funds need to be pulled, and corn should be eaten instead of being put in the fuel tank.

• It isn't just me that is sick and tired of liberal candidates on the right and the left.  We are following candidates around, asking tough questions.  We are tired of being lied to by people like Corey Gardner that approved the largest debt increase in American history, supports NDAA, funds bombing in Libya, continues the Patriot Act, and then calls himself a conservative.  No more!  We want some people that will uphold God, guns, babies, freedom, lower taxes and repealed regulation.  Get out of our lives and let us be free again!

• It isn't just me that actually likes Rush Limbaugh calling a spade, a spade.  He may have been crude when he used a slur to label that woman, but she is a well-placed lesbian-supporting shill for the left.  If she needs that much money for birth control, she's out of control.  Get richer and stronger, Rush.  You have our appreciation for your courage.

• It isn't just me that is angry about how big business gets off the hook instead of failing, because government is in bed with them.  We are angry, and want to get every politican back to accounting to us.  We the people matter and you will hear us roar in time to come.

 

• It isn't just me that is concerned about illegal immigration because it's a national security issue.  We have been painted as racist, haters, and bigots, but we are none of those.  We appreciate immigration and want equal rights for them.  In fact, we understand that a part of illegal immigration is pushed by big-business because they want cheap labor and corporate slavery, and that's wrong.  We believe every person that comes across our border has a responsibility to this nation, to pledge allegiance to it with the same heart and soul as we do.

• It isn't just me that is well aware that Muslims have started to try and conquer the United States.  We are opposed to it, and will stand until we die, if necessary, to defend the roots of our nation as a free, Judeo-Christian nation.  If you don't like it, go to Iraq, Iran, or a host of other cesspool nations and help them build a glorious Islamic empire.  We are interested in maintaining the moral and economic values that came from our heritage.  Get over it, if you feel otherwise.

• It isn't just me that has started to completely ignore CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, the Denver Post and the Greeley Tribune (just to name a few).  We see through your pile of crap, formerly known as journalism.  We find our news in other sources because it's more accurate, not because of the political leanings.  You are in bed with the others, and we know it.  May your ratings and circulation continue to plummet.  We will read the comics, clip coupons, mock your advertisers, and take everything you say with a grain of salt.  We will tune in and read, just to watch you die off.

• It isn't just me that appreciates the resolve of the various groups like Tea Parties, Constitutionalists, and 9.12 groups.  Oh, we may not always be at their events, but we are glad that somebody is actually standing up for America again.  We wondered if the Occupy movement would be another good group, but they revealed their communist, anarchist colors relatively quickly.  They had some good points, but too many bad ones.  We see these groups for what they are.

• It isn't just me that is attending caucus meetings, conventions and primaries this year.  There are lots of us.  We will vote before November, and we will be watching the events of the nation closely.  Welfare was paid for by our tax money.  The nation died while we slept.  But some of us are waking up.  No, it isn't just me.  There are lots of us now, and we haven't even gotten started yet.  We may squabble among ourselves, and need to get over our stubborn, independent ways to work together, but we will get there.  Because it isn't just me.  It's you.  And there are more like us than we know.

Did He Really Say That?

There are so many issues that impact both state and local govenment these days.  Abound Solar is going down like Solyndra, despite being pork-fed, bringing another solar scandal close to home.  Windsor residents are asking candidates about whether they will push for your tax money to be given to their Vestas plant (so they can continue their idyllic, inflated lifestyle).  The University of Northern Colorado has begun to cater to Muslims as they bring sharia through the Dining hall.  And primary candidates are filling the local meeting halls of various political groups with their promises and viewpoints.

All of these are interesting stories.  The largest story today comes from Leon Panetta, Obama's top military man, as he completely obliterates the U.S. Constitution with his statements.  We will link to the video clip, courtesy of Brietbart (RIP).  In the video, Leon Panetta completely skirts the Constitution and every protection we have in place, to take military action (it's called war) based on international direction.  It is absolutely treasonous!  Watch for yourself and see how far down the slippery slope we have gone as a nation.

This is the mindset of those in government, at many levels.  When they think that consulting with people they perceive to be higher authorities gives them power over our lives and our money, that is treason.  Whether it's the Federal, state or local level, this is a dangerous game.  Government must be cleaned out, from top to bottom.  Panetta and many others have been around too long.  Throw them out!  This is why it's critical to have some fresh faces in Congress this year.  (Watch 7 minute video clip here, and judge for yourself about Panetta's remarks.)

The Supremes Have Ruled

The Colorado Supreme court has ruled in favor of the people.  The University of Colorado must allow those with concealed carry permits to carry their firearms on the campuses of the University without fear of reprisal from the liberal, leftist socialists that run the place.  They will rage (of course), but the rights given to the citizens have won over the control of the People's Republic of Boulder.

Colorado State University has allowed concealed carry holders to carry on campus for years, with zero increase in crime or firearm activity.  Aims Community College abides by the state law, as written.  CU bucked the edict and now must comply.  The University of Northern Colorado, Colorado Mesa and other colleges are now under the gun (so to speak), themselves.  They will be forced to give citizens their rights (instead of being tyrants) at some point.  The people of Colorado, the legislature, and now the Colorado State Supreme Court have spoken.

This was a hard-fought battle, that was won by the people and the groups in the trenches.  They fought for us, and deserve our thanks.  Anybody that thinks freedom is casual, free, and easily-obtainable has never had to stand for anything.  The right to keep and bear arms in Colorado is still not as free as it needs to be, but at least students with concealed carry permits can now breathe a little easier on campus.  Terrorists, thugs and thieves may now think twice before trying something there.

Illegals, Refugees, Tuberculosis And Your Children

Longmont High School has 906 students this semester, but only 1 certainly made a difference.  This one student had a highly virulent strain of tuberculosis, and infected at least 120 students.  Now, more than 13 percent of the student body have TB, and hundreds more are at risk.  Also at risk are administrators, teachers and staff.

The identity of the student has been concealed, but this is troubling.  While privacy laws are important, when a student infects a huge portion of the student body, shouldn't we know something about him or her?  Who is this person?  How did they contract the disease?  Are they a refugee or illegal?  These are questions that must be asked, and asked quickly, or your own children and grandchildren will be at risk themselves.

Currently, it is illegal to ask about the legal status of a student.  However, this flies in the face of common protections.  According to a report released in 2005 in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, the illegal and refugee populations were reintroducing dangerous illnesses back into the U.S. population.  Among those specified were tuberculosis, and its reemergence was directly linked to the illegal alien population.  In fact, it is unlikely that a legal citizen started this epidemic.  However, we have become so politically correct in our brainless, mainstream news reporting that you won't hear this discussed on the major networks today.

Today in Weld District 6 there are 54 languages currently spoken, and 53 nations of birth origin among the students.  Undoubtedly some of them are illegal or refugees, and without a doubt some of them carry latent strains of various illnesses from their homelands.  Is a new "Longmont" just waiting to boil up and infect the local student body in District 6, Windsor, or a district in Weld County?  It could happen any moment.

The District 6 school board should be learning from this, and must take steps to protect the health of students, faculty and staff.  If not, they may experience a certain degree of student loss as parents remove their children so they will not be at risk.  With the overly protective laws and structures that guard the illegal, the refugee and the individual, the only safe schools these days may be home schools after all.

 

Like Greece

If you look back and take a moment to evaluate what has happened in the past 4 years around the nation, and even around the state, it hasn't been good.  Here are a few items worthy of reflection.

• Gas prices.  They constantly go up, and only go down during election seasons.
• Food prices.  They are soaring.
• Utility prices.  Thanks to the two-tiered program and the constant work of the PUC we pay more for gas, electricity and other utilities than ever before.
• Home prices.  They plummeted into more of a "normal" range for awhile, but seem to be climbing once again.
• Raw materials costs.  Have you built something lately?  You will know how expensive it is to just buy the raw materials.
• Taxes.  Everyone wants more from you for their project.  Oh, it might be a bond issue that will cost you "just $60 more per year," or it will be good because "it's for the children."   But the bottom line is this.  Every government entity from school district to city, to state, to federal wants the money that you work to earn every day.  This takes chunks of serious money out of your hide.
• Discretionary needs.  Vacations?  Scaled back!  Recreational items?  Priced to sell.  Why?  Because we don't have the funds at our discretion.  They are now taken by the government.
• Medical costs.  Soaring, despite Obama care and the impending "great one" and his ways.
• Coupons.  It seems everyone is using them these days.  Why?  Because they have to.  It's not an option any more.  People are doing everything they can, to cut costs and save money.  Just ask the girl scouts and their cookies this year.

With all of this on our plates, take a good look at our candidates.  There is the impostor in chief on one side, and a few people displaying more of the same on the other.  Who would reset the fundamentals this nation needs to survive?  That is a key element in this election, or else we will be like Greece within a few short months.

It's A Fraud. Now What?

Sheriff Joe Arpaio's preliminary investigation into Obama's birth certifice was released yesterday, concluding the certificate is a fraud.  Obama's selective service document is also probably a fraud.  Both of these fraudulent documents demonstrate the potential for a huge problem, that being treason and conspiracy against the United States at the highest levels.  Arpaio recommends a full-scale congressional investigation as a probable step.

Perhaps it's time for our congressional leaders to hear from us for one reason.  The truth matters.  If Nixon was involved in Watergate, he deserved to be impeached.  If Obama is a fraud, he deserves to be prosecuted.  The truth matters.  All of the groups out there ranging from the Occupy group to the 9.12 groups say they want national unity.  Let's unite around the truth.  It matters.  Call your congressman and demand a full-scale investigation.  If the USA is being subverted from within, would you care?  Would it matter more than your party (or non-party) leanings?  The answer to the question "now what" lies partly in our hands.

Another One Going Down Fast

Abound Solar joins the list of the welfare recipients faring badly in the green energy environment.  The Longmont-based company was once touted by Barack the-kiss-of-welfare-death Obama as one of the great companies that would usher us into the new age of energy enlightenment.  Now they are leaking money like Solyndra and laying people off like there's no tomorrow (and in reality, there may not be one for them).

Didn't Henry Ford manufacture cars without subsidies?  Didn't the first oil companies bring up oil out of the ground without getting a government grant?  The answer to both questions is "yes," and it illustrates the problem right now with our perception of normal.  The number of companies that expect government handouts is a huge number, and it doesn't just include the greenies like Solyndra, Abound and Vestas.  It includes big oil and natural gas.  Now auto manufacturers expect handouts, and government expects kickbacks.  This creates a facist state where big government and big business collude, and the rest of the populace is forced to sway in the direction of the prevailing wind.

Both Republicans and Demoncrats have participated in this collusion.  There are very few people that have stood as principled leaders.  Ron Paul has been one such man however.  Love him or hate him for his views, he has consistently stomped all over bureaucrats for strangling the productivity of America with their march toward solialism.

So what should we do with Abound?  Solyndra?  Vestas?  We should let them fail.  In fact, we should pull all subsidies entirely, but that would take such a huge governmental restructure, that nobody, absolutely nobody has the courage to do it.  Instead we are left with big media fawning over socialist A (Obama), and socialist B (Romney).  Sad, isn't it.  It's sadder still, when we realize the huge numbers of local jobs that are connected to Federal handouts.  If they don't give the money, the local economies don't "abound."  And it doesn't take much energy to figure that out.

Play Nice!

The Aims Community College diversity council doesn't get it.  They are offering a program on politics and diversity on Friday that will teach others how to participate in discussions with people they may not necessarily agree with.  Welcome to the land of Kool-Aid.

This promises to be one of those incipid forums that urges everyone to be tolerant and get along.  Funny.  Someone forgot to invite homosexual extremists, and the members of the occupy movement.  Some of these are advocating the use of violence and refuse to dialogue over any course of action except violent, destructive behavior.  (Sam has held personal conversations with members of both groups, and this is an accurate statement based on those talks.)  So who is suckered in by these kinds of forums?  You got it.  The "moderate," the "RINO," and the weak, stupid conservative.

If you are one of those people, be sure to attend this forum.  Then later, when you are stomped on by someone that isn't playing by your rules, ask yourself what happened.  The answer will come as you heal from your bruises.  The enemy doesn't play by rules.  They intend to win.  Do you?  Then you might have to get a little stronger, and stop listening to corporate Kool-Aid lectures.  But some people never learn.  They lose, usually by playing the middle of the road.  Do-nothing meetings are filled with these kinds of people, thinking they are making a difference when they are not.  If you aren't changing society, you aren't doing anything, no matter what Aims tells you.  If you don't believe me, look over the last 50 years and ask yourself who won the culture battle in that era.

The Emergent Racicst

Barack Obama is now calling for blacks, churches, and various splinter groups to join him in his campaign.  He is intentionally dividing the nation as a clever political tactic.  Divide and destroy.  This comes from the man that spoke of unifying the nation.  He would bring us into the post-racial era of love and politics.

So who is it that criticized an East Coast police officer, calling him a racist a couple of years ago?  Obama.  Who was it that constantly refers to racial issues, more than any other man in the White House?  Obama.  Who now calls on blacks and churches to stand with him because he's "the One?"  It's Obama.  If any other candidate employed these types of tactics the media would attack him immediately.  But Obama gets a pass.  This is collusion, and of course you and I know it.  This is why we have abandoned their news sites in droves, choosing instead to rely on the internet for much of our information.

Make no mistake.  This is not a sophomoric move by a foolish man.  He is clever, divisive, and racist in his strategies.  His ilk understand precisely what he is doing, and we need to have the determination to unemploy him in November.  After all, there will be thousands of racists and welfare recipients voting for him.  We are the other side, standing against the tide. 2nd Robbery, Or 2nd Amendment?

Over the weekend a Lakewood man was locking his business when two thugs attacked him.  They sprayed him with pepper spray, but he was prepared.  He drew his firearm and shot one of the attackers, wounding him.  The second man fled for his life.  It was the second time this business owner had been robbed recently, and he felt he had to carry a firearm to defend his life and property.  The police are not expected to file charges.

The real question should be why this man could even have charges considered against him in the first place.  He was at his business, his life was in danger.  He should have been able to carry openly, concealed, and use that firearm to defend himself or anyone else around him.  Instead there are a myriad of state and local laws that must be considered, and when the conflict occurs none of them flash through your mind.  You are merely trying to survive and defend.  Period.

This is why gun laws in Colorado must be expanded to reflect the true nature of the 2nd Amendment.  My right, my gun, my carry (open or concealed), and my defense any time, any where.  Period.  The thugs and thieves are carrying without permits, everywhere they go.  They robbed a Human Bean just a few days ago, and a Walgreens days before that.  In Greeley.  Locally.  Will they come for your cash and property next?

It makes sense to expand Colorado's gun laws.  Now.  Law abiding citizens should not fear the law.  Criminals need more fear instilled into their hearts.  Instead, Colorado laws are too restrictive.  Change the laws.  Open up freedom for all Colorado residents.  Now.  Before another innocent citizen is killed by a lawbreaking thug.

Why Evil Persists

A number of good proposals have come to committee this session, but have been repeatedly shot down.  Senator Renfroe proposed the elimination of red light cameras based on hard data proving that they are nothing more than hazards and revenue generators.  The bill failed in committee.

Another committee failure was a bill that may directly impact you.  Demoncrats have decided to try and hyper-control daycares, down to the number and color of crayons, types of food, and the educational qualifications of those working in a daycare, whether religious, private or otherwise.  Bills designed to return these decisions back to parents and grandparents failed in committee as well.

Why did they fail?  They failed because there are people that don't believe you and I should be free.  Riesburg's replacement in House District 50, Dave Long, may be new to the statehouse, but he sure votes like a liberal tyrant.  Renfroe and a group of others are consistently pushing for more liberty and less restriction on you, the citizen.  But they are in the minority.

Every time we have an issue like this arise, it's because we voted these people into office.  Some think you are smart enough to vote for them, but too dumb to live your own life.  So they must force more and more regulation upon you.  This fall, remember their dirty deeds.  Dump them!  Let's bring in senators and representatives that will get out of our back yards.  Are you ready for a breath of fresh air?
