A Tangled Web

There's a tangled web brewing in the governor's office.  Governor Ritter has announced that in the interests of family he will not seek reelection.  Various pundits have thought the pressure for this decision came from the top echelons of the Democratic party in D.C.  However, perhaps this is not true.

Greeley Report put forth a story connecting Ritter to a certain government employee, with whom he had friendly relations.  The Report went so far to identify her as "Stephanie."  The Lib Trib wouldn't touch the story.  Neither would other liberal rags.  However, it could be Stephanie that brings Ritter down.  There will be deeper investigation in the days ahead of Stephanie Villafuerte and her connections to Governor Ritter, broken laws, and ethical conduct.

Ritter was Denver District Attorney and Villafuerte was a deputy D.A.  During Ritter's run for Governor, a nasty story came out about his connections to an illegal immigrant whom he let slide during his tenure as D.A.  This story was traced to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent named Cory Voorhis, who has been accused of illegally accessing the National Crime Information Center computer system to get the story.  Voorhis has been gagged by the court proceedings against him, and cannot defend himself in this case publicly.

However, Villafuerte has been linked to calls made concerning the Voorhis case.  These calls were made to make sure Voorhis was connected to this database search.  He denies it.  But somehow Villafuerte got involved in the case, even though she apparently doesn't need to be.  She's cozy with Ritter.  And she dropped out as a candidate for U.S. Attorney under Obama.  No mention was made of the reason why.  Could it be that all of this is interconnected?

Could it be there is a little spider web of deceit going on here?  If so, Greeley Report was able to locate it and point out the issues.  The liberals conveniently avoided it, while reporting on light news.  Stay tuned. It's not over yet.  More research is going on to uncover the truth.  You need it, so you can make your best decisions this year.

Keep Out!

Greeley Report has learned that a group of demonstrators were preparing to picket and hold signs during Jane Norton's visit to Greeley today.  However, several protesters were threatened by Country Club staff and a Weld County sheriff's deputy with arrest or ticketing if they did so.  Some of the protesters made it into the meeting and asked pointed questions of Norton.  They specifically wanted to know where she stood, since she is perceived as the candidate with the inside track, blessed by the state Republican hierarchy.

The move to suppress demonstration against Norton was coordinated by leaders of the breakfast.  Apparently, they don't like free speech and vigorous debate among conservatives; especially those they don't like.  For all their talk about equality and liberty, they certainly did not practice nor support it today.

Country Club Candidates And Other RINOs

Senatorial candidate Jane Norton will be in town tomorrow to speak to the Republican faithful at the weekly breakfast.  But the Western Sizzlin isn't a good enough venue for her apparently.  The Republicans booked the country club!  Now Jim Eckersley and his faithful spousal unit Tambor Williams will undoubtedly tell people that they needed something larger, different, or that it was out of their hands.  Don't believe them.  Norton is a country club candidate, and is also the choice of the liberals in the party.

When Scott McInnis came to speak as a gubernatorial candidate, the RINO's rolled out the red carpet for him.  When Dan Maes showed up as the conservative alternative, they gave him a grudging 15 minutes.  When Jane Norton comes into town the RINO's and her wealthy backers open up the country club.  Never mind the fact that she avoids going to tea party and 9.12 groups.  Never mind the fact that she avoids controversial issues and debates.  She gets the country club.  The locally-based candidate for the same race, Ken Buck, gets treated like an outcast by comparison.

Follow the money, even within the so-called conservative ranks.  Watch the attitudes.  You will discover that there are manipulators in the Republican party, pushing it toward liberalism.  It will help you understand who state Republican chairman Dick Wadhams and his group of lackeys want in office.  You probably don't want those people.  They merely tax you less and take away fewer freedoms.  You probably want someone who is new, fresh and wants to repeal much of what is happening.  Don't look to the country club crowd for your solutions.  Vote against them.  But keep your eyes open and learn everything you can about their wiles, ways, RINO friends and money.

When America Stands Up

Joan is a concerned Northern Coloradoan, who watches current events and has a concern for America.  However, she has found herself drawn more deeply into government since the recent elections.  She has noted that the liberals have taken their agendas and instead of building bipartisan support, they have tried to slam dunk their views on everyone.

So, when the media tried to spin governor Ritter's actions on the oil and gas industry, Joan had enough.  She wrote the letter below, to Colorado regulators.  It illustrates the latent anger among many who feel current legislators are lying to them, abandoning their constituents, and are aided and abetted by current news media.  They are ready for a change in government.  These are the people who will change the face of Colorado and America in 2010.  Read Joan's letter, and know that you too can begin to take America back.

 I read the AP article in Sunday's Greeley Tribune about how much revenue has been lost and will continue to diminish.  Gas and oil has been "thrown" away and chased to Wyoming, and Texas because of Governor Ritter's total hate for the industry. (check with EnCana, people.  See how much money that was to go to Colorado exploration left the state because of him and his regulations,  I'm not making this up like parts of this AP story!)  HE has done the damage.  He and his bandit  of green regulators.  The industry needs to be regulated and it is.  But nuts is nuts. And too far is too far!  Gas and oil may not be renewable, but it's still there!  It's not gone, like the article states!   We should drill and take advantage of our "gifts!" It is America's PAYING stimulus package without owing China or anyone else. NOT borrowing and putting our great grandchildren in debt!!! A new concept for our Governor and this administration who whine about foreign oil and our dependence on it. Who's fault is it?  The article infers (that's a crock and why are you telling the public  that?) it has disappeared.  You know and I know it hasn't.  Our revenue has  been run out of town!!!  And now the sugar bowl is getting low.  And now it's "Whoa is me!"  Governor's budget is in shambles and what do we do? The industry has been harmed!!!!!!  That includes not just the drilling companies, but the thousands of people who were employed somewhere in the industry, from rigs, to other businesses that were needed to contribute to industry. Royalty owners, communities, schools devastated by one man and his green groupies. See what happens to our  property taxes!!!! These were great paying jobs!  Families could afford to buy houses and put their children through college!!! And in case your just now noticing,  they were all  paying taxes! too!!!!!!!!!!  And  they spend money in the communities where they live. Nothing like killing the goose that laid the golden egg.  We need to work on renewable energy.  We need renewable energy that carries it's own weight, NOT surviving with more government subsidies.  That comes out of MY pocket (probably not yours, I'm sure you've figured something where someone else is paying your way!)   Gov. Ritter tried to tax the industry out of business.  When that didn't work, he regulated it to where it is now.  But now it's "wah, wah, wah!"  What did he think was going to replace that revenue?  The state legislature can (and will) do their best to "fee" us to death and we still won't be able to make up the lost revenue from gas and oil. The oil and gas companies also do a tremendous amount of good  for the local communities.  Check it out!  We need to take care of the planet.  (no global warming, just common sense.) People and jobs and families are down low on the Governor's list.  Lower then "green".  But green isn't paying the bills, is it!!!  We need to put families and jobs, businesses and our country ahead of "insanity"green! Vesta in Windsor for two years and already "retooling" on their down time?  I'm sure that's not costing any of us any tax money.  Wake up Colorado State Land Board.  Answers right under your nose.  Drill!

It's A Fee

The State of Colorado is raising fees for camping at state parks and recreation areas.  Costs for camping, boat registration and other services will increase in 2010.  However, they are quick to point out that this is not a tax increase; it's only a fee increase.

Government types tell us that taxes are paid by everyone, while fees are paid only by those who use the service.  Grandpa Jim Riesburg even went to far as to declare that state gas "taxes" are not taxes.  They are fees, because they are paid only by those of us who use gasoline! 

Politicians like fees.  Many state agencies can raise them without the legislature voting on them.  The people we elect are supposed to manage these areas, but they can blame increases on entrenched bureaucrats and say that technically they don't support the increase.  So the price we pay goes up, while they fail to manage the state properly and hold the line on fees.

This happens at the city level, too.  Many local cities have managers (such as Roy Otto).  They are under the jurisdiction of the city council, but tend to operate autonomously.  So during the election cycle the mayor and council will tell us they don't have much authority, because of the entrenched system.  However, they have all the authority.  And when fee increases come along they may not have voted for them.  But they quietly endorse them, or else bureaucrats who raise them would not be employed.

It's a cat and mouse game that politicians don't want you do know about.  They don't want you to see these "fees" as a tax.  Then you would be angry and hold them accountable for how they manage city managers and state agencies.  Then they would be jobless (and more of us would probably have jobs!).  Remember this next time you talk with a politician.  When they say fee, they are trying to distance themselves from responsibility.  They are trying to tell you that it doesn't apply to everyone.  And they are trying to tell you that you are an idiot and don't understand the system.  However, you do understand what goes on in your wallet.  Remind them early and often of that fact.

Profiling Works

The undie bomber is now famous for what he nearly did.  He nearly killed more than 200 passengers with an act of terror during the Christmas season, but was thwarted in his attempt.  The government didn't stop him, but ordinary citizens did.  Why?  Because they were more alert than the politically correct, socialist machine that panders to all.

Atlantic Monthly recently published an article blaming the current economic climate on Christians!  It specifically attempted to connect the so-called "prosperity message" with the economic crash.  Meanwhile, the Ft. Hood massacre has not been labeled as a terrorist attack (no terror, no terrorist).  And people are still hesitant to say that muslims have perpetrated nearly all of the attacks on America in the past 10 years.  Why?

The answer is simple.  America is hesitant to stereotype and profile people.  We like our fellow man and don't want the sad mistakes learned from Japanese interment camps to be reapplied to this generation.  However, we are very myopic when it comes to religious profiling.  The muslims do not police their own religion.  Most "non-radical" muslims endorse the actions of the extremists.  Extreme actions are taught in mosques around the U.S., including here in Greeley.  Do we put a stop to this?  No!

It's time to begin religious profiling.  Profiling identifies a group of patterns and problems and isolates them.  Instead of blaming Christians, why not put the blame where it belongs?  Let's watch where we need to be watching.  Greeley Report thinks if the Israelis were put in charge of security they could handle it.  They've been doing it for years.

While You Partied...

The past few days may have been holidays for most of us, but the politicians have been busy!  Tom-Tom Norton, may of Greeley, has proved out the old government axiom...if it moves, tax it!  Of course his desired taxes apply to chickens that various people want to raise in their own yards.  Norton of course would allow illegals into the city and give them our identities.  He just wants to license chickens.

Liberal senators Udall and Bennett both voted yes on a 2750+ page bill that would create more government agencies and slam dunk socialized medicine on all of us whether we want it or not.  It would also put the majority of the economy under government control.  So far he has managed to take over the banking industry, housing, and the auto industry.  Now he grabs health care. Welcome to the socialist state.  And remember how these people voted.  You will want to select the opposite candidate in the next elections.

Greeley Report also noticed that "god" had spoken over the weekend!  The Lib Trib weighed in on transparency and actually endorsed District 6 school board member Brett Reeses proposal to put their checkbook on-line.  It was probably hard chewing, but Bangert and his boys managed to swallow their pride at least once, and support the right thing.  Now that the local "god" has spoken, Greeley Report wonders if this issue will be revisited.

A couple of items you will want to watch in future days are these.  Watch Liberal Betsey Markey try to paint herself as a fiscal conservative since she was allowed to vote against the health care bill.  Watch the fresh slew of bills the Demoncrats will try to introduce at the state level, to take away further freedoms.  And watch the role that angry, freedom-loving groups play in the 2010 elections.  They are not forgetting, and they are "bitter Americans, clinging to God and their guns."  It's going to be an exciting beginning to a new decade.

Merry Christmas

Last night the U.S. Senate violated every principle of freedom in passing the healthcare bill.  They have forgotten that the greatest nation was founded upon the principle of individual liberty and freedom,and not on collective, socialist solutions.  Only as men have this individual freedom can they build a great nation.  They also forgot the moral foundation of America was built upon the Judeo/Christian faith, as they ignored the religious season and went about their work of playing Messiah.  How tragic for all involved.

A scene in a lowly manger many years ago proved to us that humility always trumps ego.  As humble citizens work together to pull down the egos witnessed in the Washington, D.C. crowd, perhaps good will toward men will return in place of playing god in congress.  Merry Christmas to all tea parties, 9.12 groups, true conservatives, libertarians, constitutional lovers, and defenders of individual liberty.  Merry Christmas to you all.  Greeley Report is sure you won't be offended by thepolitically incorrect statement.  You are probably on the same side of the fence yourselves.

Chicken Tax Extortion

An astute Greeley Report reader pointed out the fact that the tax and fee increases are about to begin.  During the past week, when debating the allowing of chickens on individual properties in the city of Greeley, a great deal of the discussion led by Mayor Norton dealt with how to tax them, or impose fees to allow their being there.  They discussed whether this should be a one-time fee, or an annual fee.  Norton leaned toward forcing you to pay for the "right" every single year!

It may seem like it's your property, but the city thinks it belongs to them.  And you can't do what you want to, to feed your family.  If you change anything at all, they think they have a right to charge you for it.  Call it a tax, fee, license or regulation, they are looking for ways to control your property and take your money.

Greeley Report warned you that Norton loves to get into your wallets.  He's no chicken when it comes to taxing your hens.  Watch every statement he makes.  A great number of them will relate to how to obtain your money and take your liberties.  And he calls himself a Republican!  What a liar.  The fox is now guarding the henhouse.

The Liberal Protection Agency

What hypocrites!  The Lib Trib continues to posture on selective issues instead of applying common sense across the board.  For example, when it comes to Nunn and regulations for mining Uranium they want things to be out in the open.  Everything should be public (including those nasty little back-room meetings bureaucrats like to hold).  Nothing is wrong with this.

However, when it comes to making School District 6's checkbook public as Brett Reese proposed, the Lib Trib falls strangely silent.  The city of Greeley can do it.  And the Trib can call for Uranium miners to do it.  But District 6 somehow has protected status.  Is it because it is "too hard?"  Or does the Lib Trib have an agenda?  Do they hate Reese to the point they obscure the truth?  If so, they have ceased to be effective journalists.

Once again we see the selective application of principles demonstrates left-leaning bias.  It also protects other left-leaning people!  Just look at the Trib and it's stories.  Reporting in large scale on a left-leaning priest who demonstrates against war.  Hating uranium mining.  Reporting all the soft, fuzzy human interest stories.  But ignoring how District 6 and others are trying to maintain the good-old boys (and girls) network that has strangled Greeley for years.  That's why others are stepping forward to report on these issues.  We don't make this up!  All we do is share what the Trib avoids.

Be sure to contact District 6 and demand they fully disclose everything for the past 2 years.  No wonder teachers and the public don't trust them.  Then call the Trib and cancel your subscription.  They don't deserve your money, any more than Ranelle Lang does.  Equal means equal.  If we wanted selective enforcement and application of principles we could have found biased people by the scores.  What we want is fairness in all areas of life.  And that includes our schools and media.

Pardon Me, Mr. Bangert, What About The Truth?

Greeley Report has an agreement with local entrepreneur and District 6 school board member Brett Reese to publish various pieces verbatim.  The following column contains Reeses response to an editorial in the Greeley Tribune, published by Randy Bangert.

As much as I want to provide inside information of our publicly funded school district, I must address literary mistakes once again made in what once was a good and decent local newspaper.

In Mr. Bangerts personal opinion piece entitled, “Reese contract, thanks but no thanks”, there are two major mistakes Mr. Bangert makes.  First as is his usual custom, he has reported approximately three fourths of the story.  Well-deserved compliments to Bangert for his actually printing something verbatim.  However,  I wonder why he didn't include comments I made to the reporter when I produced this contract.  I explained to news reporter, Mr. Rogers, that this contract  was a rough draft, that I can make my comments as specific or as general as he requested; indeed, as long or as short.  But I know many who are tired of having their comments changed in their content.  Which if you'll notice, Mr. Bangert always reserves the right to do.  Up to now he's had no one to point out the error of his libelous pen.  Mr. Bangert, I was excited however to see that you have noticed the website which I am posting comments to.  You criticized me for my " long mutterings of a four-hour schoolboard meeting".  In case you haven't figured it out yet, Mr. Bangert, the greeleyreport.com is a news site that doesn't mind a little more than "drive-by reporting".    By the way Sam Hill tells me his site is increasing exponentially in hits every day.  How's the growth of the Tribune been lately?  I could only guess when you are having to give it away now.  Mr. Bangert, try the truth, its really interesting!!

 

Of course I understand the need to edit a newspaper.  I obviously wouldn't expect you to include the page or so of content that I had posted on that website.   If you really wanted to be fair you could've included that specific address in your rambling column.  The problem you're running into now is there's finally someone in the community who can fill in the rest of the story and all the facts, not just your agenda.   I've had several leaders in the community  express their happiness that this has finally changed.  They also note the fact that apparently I am “getting under your skin”, and “he will be coming after you”. Which obviously suits me fine, as this time it will be a fair fight.  My wife has broken down in tears only once so far.  May the truth win. 

 

By the way, you said neither you nor Jakob Rodgers has ever heard me state a time when I was misquoted.   But now, through this media, I can reply without the benefit of your “Ed Clark” filter.  After the Chamber of Commerce debate, you caught up to me, asking for a biography.  I made you swear you would not change anything on my biography if I gave you one.  –I still have the copy I emailed you Mr. Bangert.  But  you wouldn’t recognize it from what you printed about me in a vicious election-time commentary, using a couple of quotes out of context and twisted beyond belief.  If you like, I am willing to escalate this issue and provide to the public, the biography I sent you.  There’s the rest of the story folks.  This is only one time.  Believe me there are more.

 

I really wish I didn't have to wage this fight but as nearly everyone in this community knows, the Tribune has been shifting left for several years and I know of no one else who is either willing or able.  I dream of a day when there is a newspaper in Greeley whose purpose will be true, objective news.  

 

And in fact, a new, competing newspaper may be in fact on the horizon for Greeley.  An anonymous donor- a local businessman in Greeley, has offered to match up to $10,000 of all donations towards establishing a local, objective newspaper.  I'm excited.  We have to raise the funds by February 1, 2010.   This is legitimate.  This newspaper will absolutely focus on the truth unbiased one way or the other.  At this stage I think it's appropriate that we focus on two things for this new newspaper.  First gathering a board of advisors.  30 or 40 local people willing to make some financial contribution monthly, maybe $50.  Secondly, there is obviously a job opening.  We need a reporter/editor with additional reporting jobs in the future expected.  It starts here.  It starts now.  We will temporarily headquartered the offices at the pirate studios since we already have the office personnel, computers, press releases, phone lines, and even advertisers.  We need someone to manage this as a start up Greeley newspaper.   It will be difficult in these economic times.  Why, even the Tribune is giving away newspapers for $1 a year or something….I guess you do what you have to do with the product you’ve got.

Instead of  holding the Tribune by the nap of the neck, I really wish I had more time to describe the absolute insanity of what Dana Selzer and Ranelle Lang have just done in the dark.    Without my knowledge, the district has just lowered the graduation requirements!   Worse yet, we didn’t notify teachers, it was done during finals week, and in reality, it is a cheap way to show our “improving graduation rates” next survey period.  We don't need to raise taxes.  We don't need to lower graduation requirements.  We need to stop stifling, stop manipulating and stop fighting for the status quo.   Frankly, I'm still smarting over the wasted money this district spent at the Broadmoor hotel for the Colorado Association of Schoolboards Meeting last month.  We may need to begin considering a recall election of the board. I hope not, but we'll see.

Better Things To Do?

Over the course of the past 3 months local photographer Jerry Long has endeavored to contact Representative Betsey Markey (D) and Senator Bennett (D) regarding illegal immigration issues.  He has been completely rebuffed or ignored.

In November Long provided a CD of a powerpoint presentation to Bennett's staffer, showing the existing laws that the Federal government was not enforcing.  Then in December he followed up with a question.  "Has the presentation been viewed by Senator Bennett?"  Her answer?  "No, he has not."  When questioned further, Bennett's staffer responded, "He has more important things to do, like work on health care in Washington, than to watch your powerpoint."

According to the U.S. Constitution providing for border security is one of the few things the Federal government is supposed to provide.  Health care isn't even on the list.  However, Bennett, Markey, Udall and others are completely ignoring their Constitutional duties, to do whatever they want.  Illegals take American jobs.  We pay for their schooling, and are well aware of their gang activities.  Last year Colorado spent $33 million to incarcerate convicted illegals in our prisons.  But Bennett has more important things to do?

Now dead dog Markey and the House of Representatives are proposing amnesty for the lawbreakers. They do not listen!  Go to their meetings.  Remember their crimes against our nation.  Understand that they want to tax you, steal your freedoms, and give the rights of citizens to illegal aliens.  And vote them out.  The efforts of local patriots such as Jerry Long will pay off at the ballot box.  Let's remind them of the fact that their "better things to do," begins and ends with upholding the U.S. Constitution for a change.

Dead Dog

Liberal Democrat Betsey Markey joined the "Blue Dog Democrats" group yesterday in a highly publicized announcement.  This came shortly after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told an inside group of Dems that the Senate Democrats would introduce legislation next year, and the House Democrats would respond, thereby taking heat off of several democratic candidates who are up for reelection.  This includes Markey.

Markey has been a good little F.O.P. (Friend of Pelosi).  And her claims of being a "Blue Dog" are laughable.  She voted for Obama's huge increases, and only backed off on voting for some of the health care debacle because of pressure from we-the-people.  She is for crap and turd (e.g., cap and trade), amnesty for illegals, and her idea of reining in spending is simply spending a little less than most democrats and liberals.

Now, Markey is hoping that if she acts conservatively over the next few months we will forget how liberal she has been under the first section of her term.  It's an age-old ploy slimy politicians use to try to stay in power.  However, with people like Corey Gardner poised to take her down with clear-cut, articulate plans of action, Markey may not be a blue dog.  She may be a dead dog.

Shaking, Rattling and Rolling

Brett Reese has started to rock the District 6 school board already.  His actions are exposing the board members who want business as usual.  They want to hide their spending and justify their behavior.  (Contact them at District 6 by clicking here.)  Reese is also shaking the local media by refusing to comment to the Lib Trib.  Apparently they misquote people, or edit content to the point that it becomes insulting.  (Who would have thought they would do such a thing?)  This is opening doors for more conservative publications to come on line in future months.  Greeley might have an infusion of fresh media in days to come.  Stay tuned!

The Shot Heard 'Round The World

NOTE:  Greeley Report has agreed to publish District 6 school board member Brett Reeses comments unedited.  Last night's school board session involved some very devious plotting by the entrenched liberals on the board.  Below are Reeses' comments about the event.

This is Brett Reese, I am speaking as an individual, not as an obedient,
properly manicured board member. Because of new protocols, I have to say that.

Though the Tribune reporter literally begged for a comment, I thought I 
would pick up where Ed Clark left off and provide a comment to 
www.greeleyreport.com , Pirate 104.7fm, and anyone else, besides our local 
rumor mill. By the way, my offer remains open to the Tribune; I will email 
my answers to them in any form they choose, long or short. If they alter 
any of my answers, they owe me $5k.provable by the written emails. Simple 
huh? They won't play ball.

I was ashamed that not a single board member had any interest in reading the 
very state constitution they had swore to uphold. In fact, when I asked the 
room which constitution they swore to uphold, finally an attorney in the 
back of the room answered federal and state.  I will add here, 
Specifically Article 9 and Title 22.
So this is what the shot heard round the world sounds like.  Ken DeLay, Co. 
Asso. Of School Boards president spoke at my very first board work session. 
It was 2 hours of nonstop "boardsmanship". Don't act on your own. Don't 
speak to the press and for goodness' sake whatever you do, don't think on 
your own.  The chairman was brought to Greeley by Linda Trimberger, Bruce 
Broderius and Ranelle Lang in order to herd their rogue associate into line.

"If you don't trust your fellow board members on a hand shake, you will get 
nothing done this year" I think that's how I remember it.

No sooner was I done nodding my head in agreement than the lights, for me--
went out.

Immediately after Mr. Deley finished this sentence, Linda Trimberger 
distributed a document containing requests I had allegedly made for issues 
to be placed on the work session.  Not only did I not request these items 
be placed on the work session agenda, I wouldn't want them associated with 
me in any way.   The items were meant to defame and slander my character 
and make me out to be fascinated only with advancing private and 
homeschooler interests, and destroying the administrators of this district. 
I believe it is obvious this district is top heavy, especially at the 
superintendent position, but we certainly have many good people working for 
us as administrators.  Homeschools, private, charter and public schools, 
they're all good, and could be better with open competition. There is one 
reason I am putting up with all these antics and .. childishness. 
Paradoxically, it is because someone must stand in the gap for our children 
and this district must stop failing them.pardon both puns.

This, ladies and gentlemen was the Concord Mass. Shot at the old north
bridge. Unprovoked. And like rats that got caught with the cheese,

Trimberger and Lang and The Kron couldn't gather the slanderous sheets up 
fast enough with promises to send all directly to the shredder. Good thing. 
If any of that defamatory misinformation shows up anywhere, Linda Trimberger's 
fingerprints are all over it and I won't have trouble finding a great 
lawyer. It just occurred to me that twice, while in this marathon meeting, 
I had to excuse myself for the little boys' room. Each time, I found the 
entire class come to a halt and politely await my return. How's that song 
go? I feel like Jesse James, or better yet.black beard! Imagine little ole 
me warranting a full work session from Mr. Prez of CASB!! Too bad about not 
having time left for any of the legitimate, local board meeting items.  We 
were all much too busy being lectured about "trusting each other". --And I 
was too busy dislodging the knife stuck in my back.

After I re-collected my lunch money from the playground bullies, I gently
noted how many of their own sacred "protocols" they had just infracted by
not giving prior notification of this particularly stinky work session item.

Worse yet, the two real items I managed to actually get on the work session 
agenda; teacher's email contacts and an expense report of the entire 
district, were somehow skipped. Eventually, by means of a good, mostly 
clean fight, I managed to get the request for the districts expenses to the 
floor of the main board meeting. On the local public access channel you 
will see my bill was defeated on a tie with Linda Trimberger, Mark Hinze, 
and Judy Kron voting against the motion titled "Reveal to our community 
every district transaction over $1,000 since 08".  But I accomplished my 
objective; to expose to the voters who their enemies are. I also quietly 
scribbled a note to my neighbor, Bob Stack after the vote, "nice job saving 
your skin". Work session he voted against it, in public, he voted for it. 
Another flip-flopper? Flim flamer flap flipper?

But really, don't ya wonder what it is they are trying to hide? Where are
the bodies?? I don't know cause another of my ignored work session requests
was my attempt to get all the emails of teacher's in district 6. Our most
valuable commodity, our teachers are stressed out and many have nearly had
it with the subterfuge and cover-up of this superintendent and this board.
Doug Kershaw made a great point, he said, "Without knowing where the money
is going, how are we, the taxpayer, supposed to trust the board?" Doug,
we can't trust them, and we can't change them. Bruce Broderius, Judy Kron,
Bob Stack, Linda Trimberger, and yes, our do nothing superintendent, Ranelle
(shutem up) Lang. The only reason they keep getting re-elected is because
there are no other candidates!! We need more honest people running for our
community offices!

I'll end on a happy note though!  Our first success in saving taxpayer 
money has occurred. I ambled into this work session to find only light 
trays of snacks, fruit and coffee. Instead of lavish gourmet cheeses, prime 
rib, cordon bleau and shrimp. -- No Kool-aid.

things. First, I intend to represent those who voted for me very, very 
vigorously. Secondly, I understand this is going to be a long fight with 
many votes going dramatically against me. But we are pinpointing problems 
and...ya know... to force a vote on transparency and a detailed expense 
report I think is an excellent harbinger of what we can expect to accomplish 
in the future.

How many teachers and parents have complained to me personally that they are
not being heard? Dozens. I hear each and every one of you. And obviously,
I know how you feel. And teachers, students and parents let me tell you--
we will prevail --because our cause is just.

What About The Laws They Aren't Enforcing Now?

The Lib Trib published a cluster of articles dealing with illegal immigration over the weekend that were nothing but ludicrous.  They covered the "vigil" that bemonaned the immigration raids on the Swift plant.  They talked with liberal Democrat Betsey Markey about how all employers need to use a Federal tracking database.  And today they weighed in with an editorial that basically says all illegals in the country deserve amnesty unless they are criminals.  I'm sure they thought they were fair and balanced in their reporting.

Here is what they did not report.  They did not mention the so-called "coyotes" and human traffickers that rape women and destroy lives, leading people across the border.  They did not address the fear in the illegal community that is latent because they do not have legal status.  They did not discuss the fact that every illegal is a criminal because he or she has stolen and falsely used the identity of a U.S. citizen.  And they didn't ask Representative Markey why she and others are not immediately enforcing the current laws on the books.  They are the Federal leaders we elected, and have the power to do this.  Instead, they are merely talking, posturing, and endorsing these so-called bipartisan panels that are usually comprised of invited parties that are nothing more than liberals from both parties.  If the Trib were truly a journalistic enterprise they would have asked these questions.  Instead, they are merely hiding under the journalistic umbrella, hoping to shape your thoughts and beliefs.

Nobody is representing the conservative point of view in mainstream media.  Especially the Lib Trib!  Unemployment is high, and yet illegals are working jobs that citizens should have.  Identities are being stolen, and those who want to stop the crimes (e.g., Ken Buck and John Cooke) are muzzled and sued.  The border still leaks like a sieve.  But nobody challenges these issues.  Instead, candlelight vigils bemoaning lawbreakers are covered.

WAKE UP!  Call Markey and demand current laws are enforced by her votes, speeches and power.  Call the Trib and drop your subscription (their readers are steadily dropping anyway).  And call both the Republican and Democratic parties and tell them you will not support liberal, whiny candidates any more.  Turn up the heat.  The battle of ideas is being read by you.  You can tell these people where you stand and shape the course of government during the next 2-4 years.

Why Not Scott?

Why would the Tea Party activists protest against Republican Scott McInnis when Democrat Bill Ritter is such a poor governor?  There are several reasons.

• First, McInnis has the blessing of Republican party RINO's, which makes him suspect.  He may talk a good talk in conservative circles, but his voting record doesn't indicate he walks the walk.
• Second, he doesn't want to debate other Republicans in the primary.  He says that he wants to focus on Ritter and take the high road.  However, many conservatives see this as an avoidance tactic.  McInnis doesn't want to field the hard questions because he's a RINO.  He wants to coast in on his party endorsements.  He likes to grandstand and appear nice, when in reality it's a political move that keeps him from spending too much time or money answering the hard questions.
• Third, McInnis likes big money and big endorsements.  Former Governor Bill Owens has endorsed him.  So have other prominent Republicans.  Cash is flowing into his coffers from special interests.  However, conservatives think he's a Republican in John McCain's pattern.  And they don't want to have to swallow another democrat running under republican terms.  For example, Owens has come out in favor of legalizing illegal immigrants within the country.  He also endorses McInnis.  This caliber of endorsements makes conservatives, libertarians, and independents seethe.
• Fourth, Dick Wadhams likes him.  It's obvious in Republican circles who the favored son is within state party ranks.  That in itself is enough to make conservatives suspicious.

It's obvious that independents, libertarians and conservatives are very much in play in the next gubernatorial election.  Dan Maes remains Scott McInnis' only primary challenger on the Republican side.  If McInnis doesn't vigorously debate and work, he may well lose the conservative vote.  While Maes is not the favorite, he isn't the garbage candidate the establishment loves.  That in itself is enough to invigorate free-thinking people across the state.

Training For Nothing

Gov. Ritter is announcing a new jobs training push in the next few days for the state of Colorado.  It's too bad he has killed the local job market so that those who are already trained are out of work!  There were plenty of oil and gas jobs in this region before his liberal, human-hating friends in the environmental movement got him to kill them.  There were technology jobs in Northern Colorado that he ignored and wouldn't help with tax incentives or other ideas.

Then there was Vestas.  It was a pet project of Ritter's, but he forgot that when you kill one part of the economy (e.g., oil and gas), you also hinder other sectors of energy production.  While socialistic policies try to control and manipulate markets, they usually respond better to less regulation and taxation than anything the government can offer.  Today Vestas, the green company, isn't producing enough gold, so they are in the red.  And they are "retooling" for three months in hopes of getting into the black.

Ritter unionized the state jobs, and in a time of job and hiring freezes managed to hire more than 1,000 people in state government.  These people produce nothing.  They provide services, but actually produce no real product.  Furthermore, every dime of their wages and benefits come out of your wallet.  So Ritter's jobs focus has put a greater burden on the state.

In the meantime, Ritter is training people for nonexistent jobs.  And he's doing nothing about the illegal alien population that weighs down the construction, landscaping, and service sectors, taking jobs that could be offered to legal American citizens.  He's a farce, folks.  Let's dump him at the earliest possible minute, hopefully by putting a true conservative into office and not a McCain look-alike like Scott McInnis.

Not Progress; Just Liberal Rhetoric

A so-called "progressive" group called Colorado Progress Now has slandered the local tea party movement, calling them racist and extremist.  Their press release which they used to respond to the Neil Cavuto - Scott McInnis interview was short on facts, but long on labels.  In it, they accused Tea Party members of comparing Obama to Hitler and others, and questioned his validity to be President due to his efforts (and spending of nearly $2 million) to conceal his identity, rather than reveal who he is in all aspects of his life.  They did not mention posters libeling Bush or others with the same identities, which reveals their focus.

Progress Now is not progressive.  They are liberal, socialist and left-wing.  However, they attempt to use the term "progressive" as an attempt to mask this bias.  While McInnis is in no way a "Tea Party" candidate, they use this single interview to blast both him and the Tea Party movement.  Furthermore, if they had attended any Tea Party function, they would discover it is a largely grassroots movement attempting to link government directly to the constitution, and not to any party.

But that's what liberals do.  Attack, slander, and use as few facts as necessary.  As long as the press release looks good, the ignorant unwashed buy newspapers and devour it at face value.  Or do they?  Greeley Report is growing, while the numbers of sheeple turning to mainstream media are shrinking.  There is a movement to reclaim America afoot.

Reese Scalds Tribune And CASB

Greeley Report has agreed to publish District 6 school board member Brett Reese's statements unedited.  Despite repeated attempts to work with the Lib Trib, they have repeatedly skewed their reporting.  Therefore, Reese uses Pirate 104.7, his blog and Greeley Report to share the truth.  The following article contains Reeses' experiences this past weekend in Colorado Springs, at an event held for school board members from across the state of Colorado.

"After $20k of in kind advertising which blatantly pushed the huge property tax hike 3A, the Greeley tribune lost miserably by 2 votes to 1.  What do you suppose a local newspaper, in touch with local sentiment and anxious to “serve” the local community would do?   Yeah, me too.  But not Bart Smith, Randy Bangert and the gang.   In spite of their community speaking loudly and clearly for our school system to  become less wasteful, the Greeley Tribune is holding to their liberalism with a death grasp.

Their latest article follows their traditional pattern in that  the reporter interviews people who are in agreement with them.  Draws example after example of school districts who are allegedly doing so much better than we are because of their community’s cooperation in raising its own taxes.  The Tribune proclaims the merits of  multiple attempts at raising our taxes and finishes with several statements from a supposed expert (on their side of course), Glenn Gustafson, who I happened to have just had a conversation with last weekend.

What a reporter can do with the subtlety of words is nauseating.  For example, Did American forces “invade Iraq” or did our young men “liberate” Iraq?

So the huge article was all about how Greeley is nearly alone in raising more taxes.  All the districts around us have had at least one tax increase.   Sarah McQuiddy, big wig down at the chamber of commerce would love nothing more than to increase taxes on every chamber member.  Many chamber members I’ve talked with personally are readya for her to move on.  I wonder though, before she goes away, if she would be good enough to proclaim to all of Colorado that since we haven’t raised our property taxes, we now have one of the lowest costs of doing business in the state!!??  Nice huh?  Remember what I said about subtlety of words?  Still, if Sarah Mcquiddy, chamber prez would start thinking positively, this would be  nice selling point!

So the Tribune believes we need to revamp and try again.  More taxes dagnabbit!! There’s an old quote that goes something like this, “a liberal is a man who believes he owes a debt to society, which he proposes to pay for with his neighbor’s money”.   Or in the Tribune’s case, with their advertiser’s money.   Or in Sarah McQuiddy’s case, with her chamber member’s money.   If they want the money to go to the general fund of district 6, why don’t they get Bob Tointon and Dick Monfort to write a couple of $10 million checks directed toward the problem, not a campaign to make us working class folks pay for it.

Here though I have to let you all in on a little secret.  I just spent nearly a week sipping the finest wines.   Eating caviar, venison and veal.  Plates of desserts and long beautiful walks along the hotel lake bridge.   I walked the marble winding staircase to one of many elegant fireplaces.  Garth Brooks and U.S. presidents slept where I slept.  Julia Roberts and Jerry Seinfeld had  shared my banquet facility.  I stayed at the Broadmoor hotel.  I was attending my first CASB convention.

I hated the fact that our district was in deep financial trouble and all the school board members and top administrators from 2/3 of the districts in the state were spending over $200k for 5 days in Colorado springs’ Broadmoor hotel.  I learned an inestimable amount about how districts should work and how to change them.  But I couldn’t help but wonder if I couldn’t have learned it for less than $2 or $300k?   To be sure, event leaders made sure to address the exploitation of public dollars by explaining that we couldn’t get such great speakers to come if it weren’t for the broadmoor’s name, and there were virtually no other facilities that could house all the workshops.  Bull butter.

We could do it all for almost nothing.  How?   Well, let’s all get used to thinking outside the box.  How could we.    Let’s think about what facility could provide all those workshops and ballrooms.   Another word for workshop is class right?  See where I’m going?  Another word for ballroom is auditorium!! …why not use our own darn facilities?  Let’s clear a big 5a school in Denver for a Thursday and Friday and use all their classrooms.  Oh, and the nationally known speakers that wouldn’t come unless it was the Broadmoor?  Maybe we aren’t interested in what those speakers have to say anyhow.

I needed to attend this session of CASB.  I will fight to move the convention to a much more reasonable venue.  We need the public to know about this. The rest will happen…  I don’t know what I will do next year if it is not moved. But about the most nauseating thing was the continual push of how to raise taxes for schools.  It was a consistent, persistent drum beat.  How to manipulate levers.   There was even a workshop about how to frame your plea for taxes and strategies for changing your community’s thinking.  I even asked the CEO of the place the president of CASB, “why is there not a single word said about using our current millions of tax dollars more efficiently?”  I’m a businessman.  If we can’t increase income—we cut costs!!

Believe me when I report to you citizens of Greeley and district 6…there is not an appreciation of how hard your life is or how tight your budget is.  And it’s true for most districts in the state. No recognition at all.   I was laughed at and metaphorically patted on the head as a “newbie” board member.   I know there are an awful lot of people here in Greeley who have their hopes pinned on me.  No worries;  I won’t be drinking the kool-aid.

We have made an important first step in denying 3A and the heaping of our hard –earned tax dollars into the general fund accounts of our schools.  As I said during my campaign, don’t worry, it will be back next year, whether it passed or not. As you know I have taken on the responsibility of a school board member.  And still I have very little access to financial information.  My meetings with teachers are even being resisted.  Don’t worry, I will get the information, either through an open records request, or litigation.   I am working with the current board and we can improve our schools significantly, but it will be through openness, caring, trust and business, parental and pastoral involvement.  I realize I may be just one member, but my cause is right and together with you, the people of this community, we will overcome.

Eventually, with the contacts I’ve made and the resolve I possess, you and I will show the rest of the state, both fiscally and academically how success can happen in their district,  without crippling the community.    Since the Tribune have proven themselves powerless to report objectively,  I will begin interviewing with Amy Oliver Cooke on a competing radio station, KFKA the Tuesday morning after each Monday school board meeting.  Of course I will be producing a quick commentary here first.

Thomas Jefferson said, "The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers."  So much wisdom…

I hope that soon other community leaders begin boycotting both the Tribune and their sponsors until they begin reporting the facts as they are, not the subtle spin of the radical left.    I have made contact with the editors at www.greeleyreport.com and for now, thouogh they remain anonymous, they seem to report the truth, albeit with too much aggression.  That’s greeleyreport.com    So until my  next board meeting report, I’m Brett Reese

We Warned You

Greeley Report warned you.  Last week the story broke about CSU's deliberations to curtail legal concealed carry on school campus.  Well, they did it.  Legal citizens can no longer carry firearms on campus, and the 2nd Amendment went down without a shot.  Criminals will still carry firearms in these terrorist opportunity zones, but legal citizens cannot.

The liberals tried to tell us there was no problem.  The local sheriff would not support the measure, nor would the students.  But it didn't matter, did it.  It's done.  Furthermore, the ruling applies to CSU's southern campus in Pueblo, too.  The college joins the socialists in the area such as UNC and AIMs in restricting constitutional liberties.

What did you do, to push for freedom?  What do you plan to do now?  Someday, they plan to come for your rights, too.

Why Change What Works?

It's amazing!  Colorado State University has used the state policy on handguns successfully for the past couple of years.  This means that anyone who has a state concealed carry permit, or can legally carry openly on the campus can carry their firearms on campus.  During that time nobody has been injured by a firearm while on campus.  However now, CSU officials are considering banning guns entirely from campus.  This creates a terrorist opportunity zone, where lawbreakers can carry guns at will, but law abiding citizens are banned from carrying their own firearms.

Greeley Report supports citizens carrying firearms freely, in all locations.  Period.  Restrictive carry laws in businesses, state and national parks, and other government entities (including colleges) create terrorist opportunity zones.  Furthermore, they restrict your second amendment rights.  And finally, they taint the social atmosphere by causing the average citizen to be irrationally fearful of firearms when they do see them.  Today, CSU is considering banning legal citizens from carrying firearms simply because of fear and liberals who despise free men carrying guns.  When they take that liberty, ask yourself why they want to do it.  Then ask yourself which liberty they will take next.  Will they remove liberties from your son or daughter?  If so, when will they come for yours?

Whole Lot Of Shaking

Greeley Report has learned that District 6 schools policies and processes are as closed as their overall financial budget has been.  District 6 has begun to divulge some of their financial numbers on-line after pressure was brought by Amy Oliver and Brett Reese during the 3A push for more money.

Now District 6 is also under increasing pressure to open their boards and committees in various areas to the public.  The District has been filled with insiders, while parents and interested community leaders have been accepted by invitation only.  Consequently, key decisions have been made in back rooms with no input from the community.  These practices are currently being investigated.  Stay tuned to Greeley Report in coming weeks as more is revealed in this area.

What's The Difference?

Greeley Report apologizes for the delay of today's post.  However, we have noted that the opening of ICE office in Colorado Springs has been duly reported by the Lib Trib.  They don't care whether people are legal or illegal; it's obvious in their bias.

Rush Limbaugh made an astute observation today, contrasting the couple who "crashed" Obama's dinner in Washington, D.C., with illegal immigration.  The entire secret service and executive branch of government is wrestling with how this could have happened.  But perhaps they weren't "crashers" after all.  They simply wanted a better meal, a better party, and a different circle of friends.  Doesn't that sound like what we are told about illegals?  They want a better life, a nicer place for their family to live, and a decent place to live.  So, they simply lie and ease their way past border security.  Then they live among us, and accept the benefits accorded citizens of this nation.  What's the difference?  Not much.  But when you share this with a liberal, they will rant about how Obama needs to be protected.  Well, doesn't your family need to be protected, too?  Shouldn't we all share the same security?  Shouldn't our borders be strong and our lives safe?  Absolutely!  Equality.  Now that's a fresh idea!

Where's The Crisis?

Today is "black Friday," the shopping day after Thanksgiving.  So, where is Obama?  Pelosi?  Harry Reid?  Gov. Ritter?  Why they are taking the day off.  Apparently some of the crises they have foisted on us this year weren't actually crises at all.  Today unemployment is higher than it was when Obama took office.  Ritter still has 1,000 people on the state payroll that were not there a year ago.  But they can take the day off.  It seems that they create crises when they want them, and try to make us do what they want.  But they can shop with the best of us, too.
