SNL, Jesus And Tebow

Saturday Night Live recently aired a piece that featured performers playing the roles of Bronco quarterback Tim Tebow, and Jesus Christ.  It was standard SNL fare that was mocking, edgy, and over-the-top.  Criticism has poured in, and SNL will probably disregard all of it as they continue down their path of relatively low ratings, kept only in place by their saturday night time slot.

In all fairness, SNL should probably now air a skit that includes a Muslim and Muhammad in some type of edgy repartee as well.  In this multicultural age, no religion should be given a pass.  They should be equally humiliated, abused and slapped.  It won't happen.  Why?  Because Muslims kill people that insult their religion; Christians don't.

We are told frequently that all religions and ideologies are equal, and that Islam is the religion of peace.  It's not.  No sooner does the U.S. pull out of Iraq, then they set about killing each other.  This year Pakistan has had nearly 700 Islamic "honor killings" of mainly women that were considered as either rebellious or "too westernized" in their viewpoints.  The U.S. State Department has said nothing condemning these atrocities.  Once again, Islam gets a pass because they will intimidate, attack and kill anyone that dares to condemn them.

The next time someone tries to tell you that Islam is inoffensive and equal to other religions, point to Tebow, Jesus and SNL.  Ask them what would happen if that were to be done live in New York against Islam on a saturday night.  By sunday morning there would be hell to pay.  Because Islam is not a religion of peace.  It never has been, it never will be, and sooner or later the United States is going to have to deal with it in her cities and towns.

When Good News Is Bad News

The latest state jobs report showed that Colorado unemployment dropped to 8.3 percent, which is supposedly good news.  However, the drop is very alarming when you look at the hard data and what it means.  In the August-September timeframe there were at least 5,000 private sector jobs lost.  However, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment states that only 3,900 jobs were lost.  Why?  Because the government added 1,100 jobs during that period!

Let's be clear here.  The government lives off of the private sector.  In August there were 5,000 private jobs that would fund the engine known as the economy.  In September, they were gone.  But the government, the entity that sucks life out of the economy, added 1,100 new jobs even though the engine was running out of fuel!  In times like these the government should be completely throttled from adding new jobs until the private sector turns around completely.  This is a part of the problem.  Furthermore, these headlines will now be trumpeted as "good news" to the lemmings still dabbling in the stock market.  Colorado will be one of the 25 states they tout as having "dropping unemployment," which they will say is an improvement.  And the crowd goes wild!

These figures prove once again that those in government live in an "insulated" environment.  Greeley Report has information about over-spending at every level of government, from the Federal to the city level.  They don't get it.  They can do better.  But the headlines are good, so the spending spree continues.  Issues like Proposition 103 are on the ballot asking for more.  Let's say no again.  We are in trouble.

ICE Isn't Nice?

A movie blasting the ICE raids on Swift will be shown tomorrow afternoon and evening at two library branches in Greeley.  There will be time for brief discussion before the offended alien tour moves on after that.  It's amazing that illegals can come to this nation, steal someone's identity and wreak havoc on their lives, take well-paying jobs from American citizens, and when they are arrested there is an outcry!  Did it disrupt families?  Yes!  They chose to take that risk.

If you are arrested as an illegal in many other countries, the consequences are much more significant.  Nobody compares these nations to the U.S.  Instead, we re expected to be the "wet nurse" for all of these people who want to come across the border without pledging allegiance to our nation and constitution.  And while there may have been missteps in the process, the reality is this.  Our laws are sound, and need to be enforced to protect America.

However, since the library is showing movies like this, I wonder if they would be open to hosting the film "Obsession," and entertaining a discussion about radical Islam, shariah law, and the encroaching Muslim population in the Greeley area.  They already have prayer rooms at JBS, and want prayer time for islamic prayers in our schools.  That's probably a bigger issue than little, offended illegals.

Andy McGaven: You Wouldn't

Word has come from a Greeley Report reader that Andy McGaven, in the City of Evans Administrators office may have been one of those who blocked a movie to be shown at the community center because it contains overtly Christian themes.  Although Sam doesn't know, this source reports that McGaven is a unitarian universalist.  They are supposed to be tolerant of everyone and everything.  Right?  Or are they Jesus-phobic, intolerant, hate-filled liberals?  Gasp!  Say it aint so!
