Greeley Report likes to read news on Fridays, because it's generally "garbage day" in the news industry. The name comes from the fact that on Fridays many folks don't bother to read the news, due to their family activities or other events. So the most scandalous news is frequently released on that day, buried deep within newspapers, or given short snippets of commentary late in a news broadcast. So much is happening these days. Let's take a look at a few "garbage" pieces showing up today.
- Japan has casually disclosed the fact that up to this point the radioactive leakage from Fukushima is equal to 168 Hiroshima bombs! This affects lives, food, and radiation patterns worldwide. Still we hear little or nothing about ongoing testing of food supplies and people in Japan and in the United States. Some of that radiation is coming to our borders and has already affected various aspects of food production. Did you hear about it? (Link to associated article here.)
- Estes Park has now been dragged into testing their air by the state dictators. They were told that they would be delayed until January, 2012, but the state opted to start in September. Those counties that would not stand with Weld and Larimer when the state decided to steal clean air (to play the numbers game) should take notice. You may be in the mountains or on the plains. But you could be next. Big brother is watching you! The tea party group in Estes Park is not happy about this, and has released the data for our reading. (Article here.)
- Barack Obama will not deport illegal aliens. He has much more important matters on his mind these days. He has solved the debt issues by adding more trillions in debt than ever before in history. Now he turns his attention to something important. Guitars! Federal agents raided Gibson Guitar factories (that actually produce excellent guitars and high-quality American jobs) on Wednesday. What crime had they committed? The Feds were looking for illegal rosewood and other rarer products (e.g., ivory, mahogany, etc.) used in guitar production. The article (link here) is astounding! Musicians can no longer take real wood instruments abroad because their guitars are made from real wood! No kidding! So illegals live among us, terrorists are being nurtured right here, and the Obama administration kills more American jobs and shuts down guitar plants!
- Finally there is the story about the nice, little pacifist Mennonite college in Indiana. Their motto is "healing the world, peace by peace." But Goshen college had a problem. What was it? It was the U.S. national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner!" The whole "rockets red glare, bombs bursting in air" thing was too warlike, too violent. So they have removed it from their playlist. For everything. Instead, they play God bless America. The Mennonites are notoriously pacifist, and even the local church here in Greeley is very pro-illegal and embraces the "we're all God's children" mantra. Talk about religious stupidity gone to seed. (Article about that, here.)
While you are taking out the trash over the weekend, remember this. Society around us is not getting better. As a whole we are not seeking to build a better nation, but to merely socialize the mess we have today. Until we make serious changes, we will continue our downward slide. Sleep well, America.
